the title says it all. The freshest fish I have tasted in years served aboard a pseudo trawler "moored" in the centre of clydebank.

My husband and I ate here on a week night before going to the cinema and we were a tad disappointed. It was just basic fish (very dry) and chips and the slice of bread served with it was not that fresh. The surroundings are quite nice and it's quite quirky being on board the boat so we would probably return and try something different. Staff were good.

Walked in seated quickly. Drinks takein quickly.
They brought bread over to nibble on while waiting.... nice touch but would have been nicer if bread was fresh and not hard. Fish n chips were nice ... especially chips!
But to be honest the service from the girl with the brown hair probably made the visit! She was really pleasant. ..very helpful with the kids high chairs etc. And very attentive without being intrusive!
Would rate return

We ordered a take-out from McMonagles tonight after hearing good things and seeing their restaurant when we go shopping. We were expecting the meal to be superior to a regular chippy after seeing their advertising:

"McMonagles award winning licensed restaurant is moored on the Forth and Clyde Canal in the centre of Clydebank.

McMonagles is more than just a "Chippy" it is a fully licensed restaurant with a seating capacity of 80."

I have attached a photo of the steak pie we received and the rest of the food was about the same standard. So disappointing. The steak pie looked as though it had been poured into the styrofoam and the pastry was literally swimming on the top. The pastry was soggy all the way through and the steak was tough.

The fish was very dry and the chips were warmish and chewy. The portions were quite small compared to the chippys we normally order from.

We will not be ordering again and considering the price was higher than a regular chippy I was expecting something presentable. The only good point was that the delivery was quite quick.

We will not be ordering from here again - if I had received that meal at the restaurant instead of via home delivery I would have sent it back.

Been here a couple of times and was once again impressed with the whole experience.

It's quirky location by the Forth & Clyde canal and construction with the restaurant built out of what appears to be an old ship makes this an interesting place before you even enter.

It can get busy but you can book ahead. They do a great value menu before 5pm even at the weekends and the prices are pretty damn reasonable. The portion sizes are anything but small and the fish and chips are good.

The kids menu are also good value and include a small drink and ice cream cone, worthwhile ordering this for older kids as well as the portion sizes are pretty much adult size.

I will be visiting again :o)
