Our daughter was getting married at The Vu in Bathgate and rather than travelling 40 miles on the day of the wedding we wanted to stay closer by the night before, so that the bridal party could get ready and leave from there on the big day. It was important that wherever we stayed had a homely atmosphere. We came across Bo'mains on the internet and went for a visit. Bunty and Martin made us very welcome and it became clear that they would be very happy for hairdresser, beautician and photographer all to attend on the morning of the wedding. We booked rooms both in Kirkland House and Bo'mains Farmhouse. On arrival on 3rd April we were again greeted with a warm welcome, and much appreciated tea, coffee and home baking. We felt like it was home from home. Bunty & Martin were there when we needed help but were otherwise unobtrusive and we were able to come and go as we pleased. They shared in our excitement while at the same time helped to calm our nerves. Bunty was there to see the bridal party off and even gave the happy couple a bottle of Champagne. This was a fantastic find and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for accommodation in this area for whatever reason. I would be happy to return in the future.

Room Tip: The rooms in Kirkland House are all very spacious and have French doors opening onto decking.

A great big thank you for such an excellent review which is greatly appreciated. I was delighted that Stephanie the bride her family and friends had a super time the evening prior to the wedding at Bomains Farm and Kirkland House including ourselves. Truly a night to remember.

I have read some of the reviews SINCE staying with Bunty and Martin. Some fo them are somewhat misplaced in my opinion. The accommodation is within a family home and as such is decorated accordingly, not as a hotel. There are some very personal photo's for instance, which some might find extraordinary. In our case the welcome was very warm and friendly. The room comfortable and clean. I could be very picky and point out smal points, but our stay was at the very endo of season and in discussions with Martin the maintenance plan is scheduled for particular times which was fast approaching. It has to be remembered (just for the record) that this accommodation is in the Edinburgh district, and as such commands rates for the area. It is a clean comfortable friendly B&B and we would certainly go back. G&M Jan 2014

Natalies Wedding

What a wonderful review. A word of thanks seems so inadequate. Your special day with everything being so perfect and all comments on the wedding party looking so glamorous this would be the icing on the cake.

Keeping in touch from Tenerife during my annual holiday with yourselves and staff was reassured all was going well..

Wishing the Bride and Groom a Happy future from Bunty and Staff

This bandb was recommended by linlithgow tourist information and it lived up to this recommendation. Bunty and Martin made us very welcome. The rooms are beautifully decorated. They gave us great advice on spending a day in Edinburgh even driving us to the station. Thank you Martin we followed your directions and got great photos of the Forth Bridge.

We stayed here for 2 nights in the family room in the new farmhouse. It was a huge room, beautifully furnished with a four poster bed, a single and a sofa which made into another double. We were cold on the first night as the previous guests had turned off the heating and we did not know how it turn it back on, but when this was sorted out we were very warm and cosy. The hosts were very kind and welcoming, and breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Would definately stay here again, "Thank You" for a great stay.

Room Tip: Family room in the new farmhouse is very spacious and quiet.

Not only were we most comfortable, we were thoroughly spoiled, being treated like long lost friends rather than the strangers that we were when we first arrived for a 2 night stay.

The accommodation is first class, surpassed only by Bunty and Martin's personal stamp in making their guests so welcome. Their attention to detail is a benchmark, something for which their competitors should strive.

The sparkling clean integral working arable farm is a bonus rather than a detraction, and the 180 degree view over the fields sloping to the Firth of Forth and across to Fife puts the icing on the cake.

Rural Scottish hospitality at its best.

Room Tip: A north facing room looks over the Firth.

Bomains was the perfect place to stay when visiting Edinburgh for the Military Tattoo. We were warmly greeted by Bunty & Martin, who took time to visit with us, and to get acquainted. Our room was very nice. Martin is very debonair & loves the ladies. He makes each one personally feel extra special. He is also an accomplished bagpipe player, but we could not convince him to play them for us. Being in the country close to town makes the setting just right. If we ever have the chance to visit lovely Scotland again, we will choose to stay at Bomains. Thanks for the warm hospitality. "Haste ye back!"

My son and I spent a night at Bo'mains Farmhouse from Aug. 29 to Aug. 30. Inspite of our late arrival (10pm) we were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome. The room was tidy and well kept. Secluded from any major roads it is a wonderful and quiet place. Bunty and Martin proved to be perfect hosts, breakfast was delicious: So all in all a perfect start for any tour to Scotland at fair value.
