Went for a dinner on a Sunday night. The bar was deserted when we entered. One man reading a paper at the only occupied table did not bode well.
Staff were friendly when we arrived but waitress staff were appearing from behind the bar sipping drinks as they came.
The dining area was stark and cold. Two blackboards on the walls. A good idea, but only one filled in. The walls were bare and very magnolia.
The food was excellent. Good selection and it was piping hot and very well prepared. Some issues with wine, but no big deal. Excuses of manager were not the best, but it is early days.
All through the meal I could see staff chatting and sipping and the drinks mentioned earlier were left perched on a ledge which made the place look like a cafe, not a restaurant.
The bill came, but nobody wanted to come and take payment. It seems you are expected to pay at the bar. Nothing was mentioned when the bill was brought.
Overall, it was a cafe with restaurant pretensions. Sorry to be so frank.More
