“A very warm welcome!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2014

Lovely setting on the side of the canal, very friendly welcome from staff. It's lovely bright and airy inside with plenty of space, tables are spread quiet far apart. Not a huge amount to chose from on the menu, they only do evening meals Friday, Saturday and Sunday but there was something to suit everyone's taste. The food itself was fresh and nicely presented, very tasty indeed. The service was excellent, quick and very friendly and would definitely recommend to friends. Excellent value too, we will be back!

“Amateur service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 May 2014

The setting is perfect and on a sunny day it is lovely to sit outside. Gets you away from the unnecessary radio music inside!
Unfortunately the service is poor and I don't think I will be returning. The staff seemed to have no restaurant experience whatsoever, leaving you with dirty plates, not coming back to check if you want something else and worst of all non of them seem to be enjoying themselves. There is a desperate need for staff training and an experienced manager. The gentleman on duty when we visited on the Bank Holiday Sunday didn't seem to have a clue. There was also 7 staff including what we could see in the kitchen, so how they can make any money beats me!
Certainly a case of quantity not delivering quality.
The food is average, but relatively good value. With a complete overhaul of staff training and an experienced manager, this could be a nice little earner!

“Perfect little place for lunch !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2014

Just sitting of the canal really nice place to just sit and relax. Food is reasonably priced with a 2 or 3 course fixed price menu. All the usual dishes are on the menu definitely something for everyone. Service was quick , food was lovely and the setting ideal. You should definitely give this place a try !

“Lovely setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2014

After reading the reviews decided to go there for a lunch yesterday with a friend. Easy to find and set by the banks of the canal. Place to sit outside as well as lots of tables inside. The menu was very good and we decided on the pear and walnut salad and the scampi. Everything was lovely and the presentation was good - only downside was salad could have been a bit bigger. All in all a very reasonable place to eat - will certainly be back.
