“A Must See in Linlithgow”

Although I'm sure many of the visitors to St. Michael's Parish Church stop in because they are visiting the Castle - it's worthy of a visit on it's own. As others have written, the docents are remarkable. They literally bring the church to life.

“A Highlight of Scotland”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 May 2014

The volunteers in the Kirk were amazing they told us the stories of the kirk and explained the reformation and how this specific kirk was affected. For a Mary Queen of Scots fan this was perfect to learn how she was baptised here. The books and status nd older kirk infrastructure was just amazing to see loved every bit.

The volunteers here are very helpful and full of information about the church. Take the time to follow the printed guide and note all of the points of interest.

“An important bit of Scottish history”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 March 2014

This is a huge church - almost cathedral-like. The plain and largely unadorned stone walls have witnessed many scenes from Scottish history. The laminatred self-guided tour sheets take the visitor on a logical walk round all the key points of interest within the church. Thgere are mixed views on the aluminium covered 'crown' astop the tower - it is a 1960s replacement of a stone structure that had decayed and become unsafe. An excellent 30-40 minutes visit. Disabled access is vias the south door - clearly sign-posted.
