“Warm, friendly and homely!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 February 2013

We stayed here in February for my partners birthday and had a wonderful weekend. Domhnall and Sheila were so warm and welcoming, and couldn't do enough for us. We stayed in on the first night and got a take away, which Sheila told us we could eat in the breakfast room, which she had set up, and even treated us to a bottle of wine to celebrate our recent engagement! The following day Domhnall gave us a map and told us what was worth seeing in the area, and advised us where to go for dinner and a few drinks later that evening. The bed was warm and comfortable (and difficult to get out of in the morning!). The guest house is ideally located just outside Ennis town centre, we could walk into town for a few drinks and get a taxi home for just a few euro. Breakfast on both mornings was absolutely delicious, I couldn't fault it at all. There was plenty of everything, good home cooking served with a smile and the bit of banter. We felt so at home here, it was like spending a weekend at your aunties! We had our two dogs with us, and they also enjoyed their stay at the Westbrook House. We will certainly be returning.

I recently had the great opportunity to stay in Westbrook Guesthouse. My first impression was that it was very clean and recently decorated. The owners couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. Our twin bedroom was perfect. It had a very clean bathroom and lovely comfy clean beds and linen. Our breakfast the next morning was delicious and the service super friendly. It was really great value for money and I can't wait to return to Ennis to stay there again. It's the best 3 star place iv ever stayed in. I am definitely recommending this fantastic establishment! :)

Well, what a great friendly welcoming first night! Thank you soo much Domhnall (and Sheelagh) for our stay - beds were comfy, breakfast was yummy and Domhnall is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to entertainment on new years eve (when we arrived); tourist spots and history and of course soccer! Thanks again and recommend a stay to all to start off your trip on the right note! Will be back!

Westbrook House was perfect for our weekend to County Clare. The hosts were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The rooms were comfortable and warm. The breakfast was excellent. A Ten minute walk to the town with nice pubs and restaurants on the way.

Westbrook House was a great place to start our Irish vacation. Sheelagh and Domhnall welcomed us early on the day of our flight - which was extremely gracious because our flight arrived before sunrise at Shannon Airport. We were welcomed at 8am with a hearty and delicious breakfast and a large triple room with 3 comfortable beds. We had ample room for ourselves and our luggage in the room, too. The bath was on the small side, but had plenty of hot water for showers and was able to suit our needs. A teeny, tiny observation was that the heat seemed to be used efficiently in the B&B, seeming to come on in the morning and in the evening. It could be that we did not master the controls for the radiators in our room, though. And it did not deter from our excellent experience in this B&B. Domhnall is extremely knowledgable and a great storyteller. He is a superb introduction to Irish hospitality and to the gift of gab. He was a godsend with maps, too, providing us with maps that we would use for all 12 days of our tour of the Republic of Ireland. His detailed verbal directions were priceless in keeping us from getting lost and finding our way around. And did I mention the storytelling? (It's worth repeating.) Sheelagh and Domhnall were also helpful when global service was not working on my friend's phone. They went far and above the call of duty. If you are flying into Shannon, Westbrook House is a great place to get your bearings.

Room Tip: If you are a group of three single people traveling together, the Triple is very roomy.

Shelagh and Donol were terrific hosts and we highly recommend staying here. The room was clean and bright, the breakfast was great and we used this as our main location to make our bike tour. The bike touring around Ireland is exceptional as this is the centre for true Irish Music. The local pubs had fabulous music and everyone was very welcoming.
The walk from the train station was a bit long (half an hour), but there are lots of taxis in the area if you need to get around. Shelagh and Donol can also arrange this for you. Don't forget to bring an umbrella ;-)

Found the owners very friendly and welcoming. Nice room and excellent breakfast. Hosts were very helpful with planning our next days travel as we were from New Zealand and recommended another excellent B & B in Galway which we have found.
