We stayed with Eileen and Pat and family for 6 days, during which time we explored, besides Ennis, much of County Clare as well as Limerick. Their comfortable home is in a quiet neighborhood very convenient to the coast, the Burren, and the River Shannon, as well as to Shannon Airport, our point of departure. Nearby are two petrol stations with decent grocery stores. Ennis is a nice town with downtown just a few minutes drive in, and a good ring road once you figure it out.

Eileen and Pat and family are all very kind yet not intrusive, and by the end of our stay we were feeling a bit like family. I particularly enjoyed my time with Pat, helping him work his vegetable and flower garden one evening and another evening sitting and sharing stories with him. Their sitting room has comfortable chairs, and while the view from the front is unremarkable, open vistas abound within a very short walk. A second small sitting area looks out on a large vegetable garden. Breakfast was simple compared to some places but very nicely prepared.

Our particular room had a VERY comfortable bed and an extra-large bathroom with a great shower and other extras. My main criticism would be the limited bedroom storage, and maybe the bedroom's outlook on a unfinished side yard.

Close to airport.
Very high speed WiFi.
Clean room and bathroom.
Quiet road.

Only complaint, strong musty smell in room. Could smell fireplace from next door drift in through bathroom skylight.
I have asthma so this bothered me.

The owner greeted us with tea service in the afternoon, very much appreciated. The rooms were top notch, the showers gave out ample pressure and lots of hot water. I measured the WiFi at 8 Mbps, the fastest I encountered in my two weeks in Ireland. I used it to download a huge file (over 1 Gbyte) for tourist information on Ireland. The breakfast selection was great and served well. I highly recommend this B&B!

stayed here with my 2 sisters and brother when we were in ennis for a funeral recently,
thank you so much for your hospitality Pat, nothing was too much trouble. lovely comfortable beds, beautiful en suite facilities in each room, warm and cosy. the little lounge area with tea and coffee and hot chocolate and plentiful biscuits was a great added touch,

lovely lovely breakfast on each day, and quality of cooked breakfasts were fab, your home grown tomatoes were the sweetest we had tasted. highly recommended when you are in the area. do stay here.

We loved our stay at Oakley B&B in Ennis. Although we did not have a car, it was not a problem as Pat kindly drove us into town one day, and the Barrat tour bus which was taking us to the Burren and Cliffs of Moher kindly picked us up at a nearby service station. Eileen and Pat could not have been kinder and more accommodating, helping us deal with laundry and computer access. And the bedroom and bathroom were top-notch. A lovely garden and sunroom as well. We were well taken care of! Cynthia from Canada

Eileen is very enchanting. She is the perfect mix of when to have a chat and when to leave you to yourself. My mother and I had such a good time at this B&B we came back at the end of our trip in Ireland to stay a couple of more days. Very easy to get to Shannon. The house is beautiful with a lovely sitting room for some evening tea or watch the TV. The back garden is full of blooming flowers and lots of bird watching for entertainment. Very peaceful and restful. Eileen will tend to your every need. I thank her for the hospitality and her husband is very helpful too.
p.s. recommend the Old Grand Hotel pub for dinner. Great food reasonable prices in Ennis.
