We bought a package that included breakfast. Every morning we were treated to a full Irish breakfast complete with treacle bread and marmalade.
When we returned in the evening we were served tea and cookies by the fire. The experience could not have been any better.

Dear Kathbren,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with such positive feedback which I am delighted to share with our team. There has been a great atmosphere in the hotel in January and we were especially pleased that Paolo Tullio voted the Town Hall as the best value restaurant in the country. We will continue to work hard to ensure that our customers have a great experience and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

We booked a King Suite for 3 nights over the Christmas period. This was our 2nd visit to the Old Ground and certainly wont be our last. The room was excellent, clean and spacious. The staff were also very pleasant and knowledgeable, both at reception and in the Poets Corner Bar. We dined in the Town Hall restaurant one night and can honestly say it was one of the best meals we have ever experienced.

I cannot think of a single negative from our stay, an easy 5 stars.

Room Tip: We had room 220, a king suite at the front of the hotel overlooking the garden and across to the Chu...

This hotel is extremely well run with excellent staff. Attended a wedding over the Christmas and the service, the food and the hotel itself was exemplary . Attention to detail is second to none. Hotel was busy when we arrived but the staff were aware of this fact and still managed to provide a food high quality service to all guests. Really had a great time here.

This is a nice comfy hotel with good standards except for the television reception which isn't great. As hard of hearing, subtitles were only available on two channels.
The staff are lovely, knowledable. Food great and nice bar.
There was a maitainance issue with my room which they moved me immediately to the suite. The speed with which they engaged in the repairs was the fastest I have seen anywhere. The Hotel is in a great spot. I have stayed locally before and next time I will be staying there instead.

Room Tip: Some ground floor rooms loo out onto parked cars.

I have just returned from a 4 night break with my guy, at the Old Ground Hotel in Ennis and can't say enough about this super hotel!! From the moment we arrived early afternoon on New Years Day, we were spoilt by the amazing staff. We were ravenous after our drive from Dublin on a miserable wet day, but despite the dining room been packed to the rafters for lunch, the handsome restaurant found us a very cosy table for 2 in an overflow dining room. We both enjoyed an amazing 4 course lunch at an even more amazing price....fresh produce served by friendly staff.....what better start could you get to a new year break!!! Our room was spacious, warm, clean n very comfortable with just the perfect amount of everything from bedclothes to clothes hangers to coffee/tea making facilities. Breakfast was top class with a huge variety from pancakes ( had twice....delicious!!!)to pan fried fish...sampled by himself, n also top class. There was also other hot choices apart from the more usual full Irish.....and the very friendly waitresses were more than happy to cater for every request. There was a great choice of breads, croissants and danish pastries plus fresh fruit and yogurts. The coffee was lovely!! We dined in the Town Hall restaurant n again the food was excellent.....try the scallops starter and the monkfish...you wont be disappointed!! The friendly professional service again was top class. I can't say enough about our stay in this hotel....we could not find, even the smallest fault with it. We definitely will be back and will recommend it highly to friends and family. Thank you to all the great staff in the Old Ground Hotel for making our stay so memorable....A and D xx
