“clean good size room, quiet on parking side”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

stayed 2 nights with tour which included 2 breakfast and 1 dinner
room is good size. clean. comfortable bed. desk, small table, and 2 chairs.
bath room is remodeled and modern. extra towels. good shampoo, soap, etc.
in room safe. iron and board. place to hang clothes and shelves. small drawers.
US and European 2 prong outlets in bathroom. nice since outlets in Ireland are very different needing adapter. i also always carry a 2 prong to 3 US prong adapter and a 3 way 3 prong splitter so i can charge multiple devices from one outlet

fast good wifi in room and lobby and even parking lot. nice bar with food and music in lobby.

breakfast was good. some fruits, juices, cereal, pastries. made to order eggs and good mushrooms, sausage and Irish bacon. no omelet that i saw on menu of about 6-7 choices
my included dinner was good. salmon and prawn appetizer was very good. roasted beef entree was good. toffee cake and ice cream was ok. seemed more like a carrot cake

location seems close to shops just outside the bar, but i went out of town with tour bus, so can't say much about location.

my room was facing side parking lot and was comfortable with window open. others facing the front yard complained that it was hot with windows closed and there were people in front lawn talking till well past midnight. so try to ask for a room facing parking just in case. remember that most, if not not all, hotels in Ireland do not have air condition and it is really not needed even in July

only possible draw back is only one small elevator. my room was 3 floors up. they brought my bag and i took stairs rest of time. wasn't bad at all

Room Tip: medieval banquet about 30 min drive was entertaining. not like those in the US with horses and jou...

A lovely hotel, if a bit run down in the common areas and hallways. Our room was clean and comfortable, but the hotel is not well insulated, so the person in the room overhead stomping around for hours as well as loud partiers outside from the bar kept us awake until well after 2:00 am. When I mentioned the noise level at checkout, the front desk gentleman was completely indifferent. The restaurant was the redeeming factor - the menu was wonderful and our food was delicious with very generous portions. We were warned that breakfast would be overcrowded with long waits, so we ordered room service and had a lovely breakfast as well. I would give the hotel three stars except for the food - it was good enough to bump them up to a shaky four star.

This hotel is right in the town of Ennis-a great way to begin our tour of Ireland. Many quaint shops & pubs. The Poet's Corner in the hotel has the best traditional Irish music in town. We also ate in the main dining room & it was well worth the money. The hotel itself is old but well kept. Our view was of the parking lot-there are better views for sure! There is a lovely garden sitting area outside to enjoy a drink. The town has a farm mkt & a church well worth visiting right across the st.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the church or the front of the hotel.

It's not easy planning a driving tour of Ireland for 14, when you know a good location, a great meal and secure parking is required.
Having been advised to see the Cliffs of Moher and then the Burren, there didn't seem to be much choice in accommodation in the area, anyway we weren't disappointed in the hotel. Although it seemed very busy, with people coming and going the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a very good meal in the restaurant and then went for a walk around town looking for pubs with music, they all had signs advising live music tonight but where were they, anyway we headed back to the hotel bar where there was excellent local music.

Room Tip: If you don't smoke make sure you ask for a non smoking room - didn't know they still existed...

We stayed 2 nights in this lovely quaint hotel. The location is perfect to enjoy Ennis. The hotel has a pub (Poets Corner) as part of the building, where the locals enjoy good food, beverages, and music. The rooms are good size and well appointed. As in all of Ireland, the staff was very friendly and accomodating. You can walk out of the hotel and stroll the scenic streets of Ennis. Our room was on the east side and overlooked the nearby school play area. Room was quiet. There are several sitting areas where you can have tea or "a coffee".

Room Tip: Rooms on the southside overlook the garden and church.

I spent three nights in Ennis and ate in the Poets Corner each night. Live traditional music, busy bar, great food and service. Lovely craft beers, seafood selection is simple but tasty, irish beef burger excellent. Compliments to the excellent bar and floor staff who are courteous and very efficient.

Stayed for 3 nights last month. Very large room which had large bay window (think it was 228) overlooked the garden and church opposite. Bed was the most comfortable I have slept in!! ( I have a real problem with sleeping, so would love to know where the bed linen and pillows come from, so I could invest in some for myself!!) Bathroom was clean and large with very powerful shower! Had dinner in the restaurant one evening and enjoyed it. Breakfast was very good with nice selection. Hotel very clean and all staff were friendly. Ennis is a lovely town and found it a good location for our days out. Would stay again if lucky enough to return to the area.
