“A Grand Surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2013

We stumbled upon the Friary while strolling around town. Not only does it offer an astonishingly well preserved glimpse at the faith-anchor that the friars provided for Ireland, the British Isles, and Europe; we wandered into a tour given by one of the docents and a priest-historian that brought the past to life with humor, reverence and a large helping of historical revelation. While other casual visitors may not receive that blessing, the structure and the staff will certainly be worth the trip.

Knowledgeable people, extremely well preserved, informative site and displays. Well worth a visit. The friary is a very good example of a mo astern from the 13th century. Very well done. The people who work there are fantastic!

We took a tour of the Friary that lasted about 1 hour. It was very interesting and educational. I recommend a tour to anyone visiting Ennis. It is well worth the hour. The attached pictures explain better than I could.
