We stumbled upon the Friary while strolling around town. Not only does it offer an astonishingly well preserved glimpse at the faith-anchor that the friars provided for Ireland, the British Isles, and Europe; we wandered into a tour given by one of the docents and a priest-historian that brought the past to life with humor, reverence and a large helping of historical revelation. While other casual visitors may not receive that blessing, the structure and the staff will certainly be worth the trip.
