After a harrowing first drive from Shannon Airport, we showed up in the morning...weary from the flight, and just hoping to drop our luggage. Mary made us welcome and gave us an idea of the city. When we returned that afternoon we were welcomed warmly. We met some lovely folks on the patio that evening, and spent an hour or so just feeling as if we were among friends...it's the Irish effect!
We had a lovely breakfast in the morning and left for our next destination.
I would stay longer another visit; Mary is a doll, the rooms are homey and clean. The house has lovely little niches to read, write or talk...all very inviting!

Just returned from Ireland. Three nights were spent at Grey Gables with owner Mary Keane.
Not only was our room spotless and comfortable with a great breakfast, Mary could not have been nicer. We were there looking for information on my husbands relatives. An article had been in the local paper regarding our quest. Mary had messages from prospective relatives before we had even arrived. Despite her busy schedule in running this wonderful B&B, Mary was most helpful in sorting out the information and messages that had been left for us. She could not have been more helpful. Our experience at Grey Gables is one that we will remember for a long time. A great place in a great location. Thanks Mary

We stayed here our last night in Ireland. The location is convenient to Shannon Airport. Mary was very nice to let us select from two rooms on the ground floor so we didn't have to climb the stairs with all our luggage. The first was very small so we were glad we had an option. The dining area was nice and the food was good. I have to say it was 'average' in comparison to the other 'very good' and 'excellent' B&B's we stayed in on our holiday because there is really no view of landscape and the house is older than most we visited.

Room Tip: If you do not want to have to climb stairs with your luggage be sure to request a 'ground floor...

Grey Gables is a fantastic B&B. Upon arrival, Mary showed us all around and made sure we were comfortable. Our room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable and clean. Our breakfast was on time and delicious, even though Mary shared with us that they had just had a death in the family the night we stayed.

Upon leaving the Grey Gables, Mary made sure we knew how to get out of town and we found ourselves a little sad we had only stayed one night!

We spent our first of 7 nights in Ireland here after travelling for what felt like days! We arrived later than anticipated and Mary was very understanding. The room was beautiful, and the breakfast delicious and huge! Would highly recommend staying here! If we ever make it back to this area we will stay here again!

We stayed our first night of our 10 days trip to Ireland in Gray Gables. I was ill, we had travelled for hours and we arrived very tired and anxious.
I will remember the evening we arrived to Ennis for the rest of my live. The room was gorgeous, some B&B's guests (musicians from Japan) were playing beautiful music and owner was very friendly and helpful.
I simply laid on my bed, listened to music, realized I was in Ireland and started to feel better.

Next morning it got even better: the breakfast was very good and the dining room was just lovely. Try the potato pancakes, I did, and I loved them. Yummy!
