This is a very simple but affordable guest house located in the city of town. There is no on site parking but a car park located across the street. The guest house was clean and rooms comfortable. Shower was a little noisy and walls a little thin but other than that rooms are fine. Hospitality tray not provided in rooms but outside in corridor and breakfast is continental with an assortment of bakery items. Great location in walking distance of Friday & Saturday markets and a variety of shops and pubs.

You get what you pay for. And for the Banner Lodge, at such a low price, don't expect gold plated door nobs.

The rooms are dated, but clean.
The location is perfect.
The food is canned, skip the breakfast if you can.

Im not a fussy traveller, so the outside noise and mini tv with 3 channels was fine, it matched the price

Beds in our room were so old they likely should have been replaced 10 years ago. I've done enough European travel to understand that Europeans typically have different taste in beds, and this review isn't relative to that. The beds had easily a 4" drop in the center from too many years of use. Shower didn't work properly, drains were slow.

Parking is another issue: there's a public car park across the street, and it's fine after 6PM. But you'll have to be up by 9:00 to put some euros in the pay-and-display, and it's only good for an hour at a time. Keep going back if you'd like to stay a while and check out the town - not a good way to see Ennis, which is actually a nice little town.

Then, at 10:15, there was a knock at the door to inform us that check-out was at 10:30. The woman must've walked away before we got a chance to request time to sneak in a shower before packing up and leaving. I think there was one other guest in the place, so it's not like someone else was banging down the door to get into our room that morning.

I'd recommend going to Ennis if you're in this part of Ireland, but would NOT recommend this hotel.
