“Wonderful Experience!”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

My husband and I just returned from an amazing trip to Ireland. We decided to stay in Ennis because it was close to the airport and there were many places we wanted to visit nearby. Well, we were so pleasantly surprised. Mary, the owner, made us feel like we lived in the house. She is charming and informative and extremely welcoming. The house is lovely and our room was quiet, pretty and extremely clean. The house is beautiful and the breakfast was our favorite in all of Ireland.
When we left, we were sad because not only was the B&B beautiful, but Ennis turned out to be one of our favorite stops. The food and the medieval city atmosphere were outstanding. This B&B is a wonderful one and very economical as well.
We are very grateful to Mary for making our first stop in Ireland so memorable.

This is a big house full of character. We were initially offered a street facing room and as we are light sleepers we asked if any other rooms were available. Mary was very understanding and willing to find a room that suited us. We ended up in a rear facing room with a view of the property's garden. Parking is ample in front of the house. Mary was an absolute delight, we immediately felt we'd known her for years. A request for some milk resulted in two slices of apple pie to accompany our tea. Her suggestion for a place to eat dinner proved to be a lovely friendly pub with excellent food and attentive service. Breakfast was fabulous, fresh warm scones and some of the tastiest smoked salmon I've eaten. We can highly recommend this BnB and next time we're in Ennis we know where we would like to stay.

We found the house easy enough on google maps. Mary's husband greeted us and let us in, even offering to carry my wife's luggage upstairs. We met Mary later that afternoon and what a delightful personality she has! Mary gave us some good directions for food and shopping.

We had a triple in the back of the house. The room was clean and had enough space for us. The wifi was fast. The house has a lot of character; it is an older house and the floors creaked whenever I seemed to walk on them...or whenever the people above us walked on their floors. The walls seemed a bit thin as well but we were not disturbed. We enjoyed the bread and cheese spread on the buffet table as a breakfast option. I wish I had another day to explore the Ennis area more as it seemed like an interesting town.

Glenomra is a B&B about 15 minutes walk from the center of Ennis. It is in an old house, full of character and charm.

Mary, the owner, is just great! She is as warm and gracious as can be and excels at craic. It is so much fun to talk with her.

The breakfast was just delicious - a buffet of cheeses, breads and fruits. Mary offered to make hot dishes.

The B&B is located on the Limerick Road, which is somewhat busy. We stayed in the back and had no difficulty at all with traffic noise.

I look forward to returning someday before long......

Room Tip: If you are sensitive to noise, you might want to ask about a room in back.

We (husband, 3.75 yo son) and I stayed here on our first night in Ireland after arriving into Shannon from east coast of US. The b&b was easy to find. The room was bright, clean, and had a lovely view over the back yard/garden (because it was in the back, we noticed no road noise). Mary was wonderfully welcoming (and had been helpful on offering to let us arrive early for a rest because the room had not been let out the night before). The night's sleep was comfortable. As a reminder, though, you are in a home, not a hotel, so there probably is a little more noise from other guests than what you'd have in a "nice" hotel. That said, we were not kept awake nor were woken early. We can only hope our early wake up did not disturb others. Breakfast was quite delicious with eggs, rashers, crepes/pancakes, bread and cheese selection, and delicious French press coffee or tea. We may stay there our final night as well if there is availability, The walk to town was easy, with a smidge uphill, and about 15 minutes with the slow down inherent I toting along an almost 4 yr old. Parking is tight, but manageable if you are flexible/nimble.

Room Tip: I would like a back of house room, but cannot compare to a front of house option.

Just returned from a fantastic vacation in Ireland with my wife, daughter and future son-in-law where our trip was made extra special with a stay at Glenomra House. The house overall and our room was very clean and well appointed. The breakfast was very good and the location was outstanding - very close proximity to the center of town. Mary is extremely friendly, very professional and she was so attentive to our needs.
If you want a great place to stay that’s clean and offers excellent value in Ennis look no further than Glenomra House.

Our stay here was fantastic! Mary’s daughter let us in the night before with no reservation. The house is wonderfully decorated and the room was clean and cozy. It was only a short walk to town. The breakfast was a delicious buffet and Mary cooked whatever you wanted to eat to order so you didn’t have to leave food on your plate, getting exactly what you wanted for breakfast. She also had a knack for giving great life advice ;) Loved staying here!
