“Great Value for Money”
Reviewed 3 August 2012

Just back from a 3 day break in the West County. Myself and my 3 daughters 19-17-14. It was a good break. Its a slightly older hotel, but seems very popular as it was very busy. The family room was sufficient. Breakfast was lovely, with plenty of variety and loads to eat. Leisure Center was good. Location was about a 15 minute stroll to the heart of Ennis. It provided an ideal base for visiting the attractions Co. Clare has to offer. I noticed younger children are very well catered for (meals, Kids Club, Teen Room and Discos)

We stayed in this hotel a couple of years ago and it was not at all child friendly but what a turn around. From the moment we walked in the door we were met with a big smile from the reception staff. we checked in immediately and went straight to our room which was a family room. it was bright and airy and comfortable. we had some bar food on our arrival and on each evening had our dinner there aswel which was very tasty. On the 1st night we were told there was no music but to our surprise there was a fantastic trad band with the local matchmaker Willie Daly and they were fantastic needless to say the bar was packed that night but the following night (Fri) there was no music so the bar was much quiter so maybe thats something for the hotel to look into people love music and it keeps them there. we used the swimming pool and it was plenty big with it also had a kids pool and a jacuzzi. there was some tiles missing in the 3 foot pool which could be dangerous. The kids club is just fantastic including the big top show at 8 and the family disco until 11. All in all this hotel is lovely and the staff are some of the most friendly i've ever met from reception, dining, bar-staff to chamber maids everyone was so welcoming and child friendly. I would not hesitate in booking this hotel again and would recommend it to people of all ages. it's made changes over the years for the best Well done West county hotel and keep up the good work

Room Tip: If you have a large family request the larger family room

just back from a weekend stay, we are a family of two children a girl age 5 and boy age 4, we found the kids club brillant its opened from 10.15am-2pm and again 5.15pm-8pm, you can drop the children to the club at anytime and they can stay for as long or as short a time as you want, at night there is a disco for kids, children must have an adult with them from 8pm. the food was really good value and excellent, we also used the pool , which was clean and it had lovely warm pool childrens pool, the staff are very helpful, and children are so welcome in this hotel

We stayed here for 5 nights and have found it to be the most family friendly place we have stayed so far. All our family (myself, husband and 4 children aged from 7 weeks to 6 years) really enjoyed the trip and found the hotel to be the perfect base for Limerick, Cliffs of Moher, Bunratty Castle etc. The positives were many - fantastic kids club, reasonably priced food, lovely breakfast, extremely friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us, an all day help desk to help with trip ideas, directions etc. The only negative I would say was that the hotel is quite dated in its decor and could do with a face lift , but that aside, our kids were extremely happy there and happy kids definitely make for happy parents.

The bedroom was pretty nice. The bathroom, though clean, is about 5 years past due a revamp. Good shower. Very busy but everything running smoothly. Not bad for €52 but they're not aiming above budget hotel territory.

Stayed here with my family on a two night stay arrived Friday evening got a
Room at the end of the hotel . Everything looks tired and dated in and around the hotel . Are room was nothing special a double with a single init for our daughter , the room looked tired and not really cleaned to a good standard , the toilet very stained just really unkept . Breakfast was nice, place packed with young families kids clubs going on staff every nice they work every hard . Can't see
Why it takes 3 GMs to run this hotel I think 1 good Gm and spend the extra money on a lick of paint would go a long way, I also don't agree on the staff having 25 euro a week taken from there wages to feed them at work . Happy staff = happy customers it's that simple my family have been in the hotel
Trade a long time over 10 years and never heard of staff paying for there meals and never should
