Owner description: Fota Wildlife Park is Cork's most visited Tourist Attraction and has been awarded best family day out in Cork and Munster. The Park is set on 70 acres on the scenic Fota Island in the heart of Cork Harbour only 15 minutes from Cork City (top 10 in the best cities to visit in the Lonely Planet guide's 'Best in Travel 2010').The park is not like an ordinary zoo; here you can come face to face with free roaming animals & birds from all parts of the world. So whether it's a kangaroo that hops in front of you or a ring tailed lemur which jumps down from a tree, each visit is sure to bring its own fantastic memories. In addition to the wonderful array of free roaming animals, visitors also have the opportunity to see highly endangered species such as the Rothschild giraffe, European Bison, Lion Tailed Macaque and Scimitar Horned Oryx, most of them without the obstacle of fenced-in exhibits. This is the most spectacular aspect of Fota Wildlife Park, and is the reason you'll want to spend a full day exploring Ireland's Wildest Attraction.

€58.00 for 4 adults and 1 child which is way over priced for what's ahead. €2 per person for train ride. €3 per car exit to leave the park! A very expensive day out for a park that does not take very long to get around. I understand the park needs to maintain its upkeep but it's just another rip of republic example. The young girl on the train ride was extremely professional & was very helpful with our buggie also. She was great at explaining about all the animals & is a credit to the place. Overall I was not happy with the experience and will not be returning mainly because of the pricing.

This park was one of the best "zoos" I have seen. I believe our zoos in Vancouver should take a close look on how things are done at Fota. To see a kangaroo in front of you, or lemurs above you while you walk is wonderful. Very little fences. Fota uses the natural habitat to keep the animals in the area. Must see for everyone! Thanks Fota.

I loved´it here. The animals have a lot of natural space to roam around and they are less constricted than they are in a zoo. We were there just after feeding time so it was nice to see the animals active and munching away. There are loads of picnic areas too, and peacocks and other birds roaming free, which is lovely. There were not that many staff around though, so if you had any questions there was noone to ask. Great the the Cork train stops right at the park.

Loads to see. Easy to find your way around. Canteen/shop was good, but not enough places to sit. Same if its busy and rainy. Not enough places inside.
Because there's no large fences even our two year olds could enjoy without ending up on someone's shoulders.
