“We Didn't Stay Here, But...”
Reviewed 22 May 2014

We didn't actually stay at this hotel due to a booking mistake on my part. However, when we arrived and the booking couldn't be found, the hostess quickly found us an alternative (and very nice) location for the night. She also drove us to the alternate B & B and ensured that we were well taken care of. We also returned to the hotel/pub that night for dinner and enjoyed a local show including singing and dancing. Overall, I could not have asked for more gracious service and assistance. Well Done.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to post a review. Unfortunately you arrived a month early and had no rooms available for the night. We were delighted to be able to sort out alternative accommodation within the area and delighted that you enjoyed the food with music here on the Tuesday Night. With kind regards Una Forrest

I can't say enough about the Blarney Castle Hotel. We were worried that Blarney would be very commercialize since it is such a tourist attraction and it was completely the opposite. We stayed for 3 days and they were just fantastic. Eve at the front desk is the sweetest, most friendly and helpful young lady you can meet (see photo). The rooms are large and clean yet so cozy - crisp white linens and lovely appointments. Ours overlooked the beautiful little town green. The pub is fantastic - filled with friendly locals speaking Gaelic - in fact I think we were surprisingly the only Americans to be found. Had fish and chips at the bar that were wonderful. The breakfast room is charming, the food is delicious and the service is fantastic. Amazingly enough the rates are very low and you can walk to the castle from the front door. Do not miss this gem in Blarney!

Room Tip: Request a room overlooking the town green.

I had a family lunch in the bar recently and we were all disappointed with the food. The toasted sandwiches were bland and cooked in a sandwich maker, I'd make a better effort at home myself. The chips were also very bland, chunky frozen chips, if the effort was made to make home cut chips it would have been way nicer. Only good thing about the whole experience were the staff who were friendly and efficient.

Dear Customer, Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review of your dining experience with us during the month of April. Customer Feedback is important to us as it is a great way of communicating with people and finding out their experience. All of our sandwiches are made in a sandwich maker together with fresh local produces - we cook our own ham here on the premises, and also other meats. Our Cheese which is also very good is local and we use it in all of our toasted sandwiches. All of our sandwiches are toasted to order each accompanied with our homemade chutney or salsa depending on the dish required from the customer. Each Sandwich is also served with salad together with our homemade salad dressing. Thanking you once again, Una Forrest.

We had a great stay at Blarney Castle Hotel. Our room was huge, and overlooked the green. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful, and bed was very comfortable. It was lovely to stay just a short walk from Blarney Castle. If you're going to Blarney, stay here!

Room Tip: try for the room overlooking the green...

This quaint hotel is the perfect location for walking to the Blarney Castle and the Blarney Knitting Mills of which both are just accross the street.
This hotel dates back to the 1800's and has everything the modern day traveler is looking for. The only drawback is the stairs leading to the rooms which have a comanding overlook of the city center square and the grounds leading to the castle. The hotel has a pub area adjacent to the bar and separate dining room. We ate in the pub in front of a peat and coal fireplace which took the chill off the damp and cool evening. The dinner was excellent and moderatly priced, with a friendly and accomodating wait staff.

We stayed here a night last week and it was a very comfortable stay! It was a 5 mintute walk to Blarney Castle. The staff was welcoming when we arrived, and we were shown to a room that was freshly painted but they decided to move us down to a different room because it still smelled like a little like paint. The next room was just as nice as the first one and very comfortable. We had dinner in the pub which was delicious and had a nice atmosphere. Breakfast was also very good the next morning. They did accidently charge my card twice for the room upon checkout, which was quickly remedied the next day with a phone call. Between the lovely staff, nice room and good food, we would stay here again!

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor and it was quiet and comfortable.

We being a party of 5 adults & 3 children stayed in this wonderful hotel for 2 nights. From the moment of arrival, nothing was too much trouble. Una offered colouring books, milk & cookies for the children. Never have we been offered that in any other hotel. The personal touch that this hotels offers is what makes it stand out from other hotels. The blueberry pancakes are the best i've ever tasted. We have stayed in Blarney a total of 3 times now, but never will i stay in any other hotel except Blarney Castle Hotel. 5 star service & hospitality. Can't wait to visit again.
