We stayed here between Xmas and new year 2010. Firstly it's not a 4 star hotel, 2.5-3 at the most. There is no atmosphere whatsoever in this hotel. We didn't find the staff particularly friendly or helpful, the room was mediocre, as was the food. And one big thing, the hotel is NOT in blarney, it's a ten minute drive away. It's also very badly signposted and we found it very hard to find at night, other guests found this too. I would not recommend this hotel, stay in blarney woolen mills hotel, that's much better.

Dear Guest

Thank you for your recent review all feedback is important to the success of the Hotel and your's is very much valued.

I was quite shocked and baffled at your comments. I would first disagree on your comments of us not being a 4 star hotel, we are a AA rated 4 star and have been since the hotel was founded, our bedrooms and facilites are to a 4 star standard and our grading reflects that. Regarding your comments on the food which were very vague, we again have a AA Rosette for the food quality in the restaurant and we have standards of procedure which gives the guest several opportunities to highlight if they are not happy with food or service.

Your comments regarding 'Not being in Blarney' are again false, our Address is Tower Blarney.

I would have to question your decision to post this review 4 months after you stayed with us, although your feedback is important to us.

Kind Regards

Stayed here last weekend and attended a friends wedding reception.
We got a very good rate..about 150 euro BB for 2 nights and found the whole experience very pleasant indeed.
Breakfast was buffet style and plentiful and fresh with the kitchen staff checking and replenishing hot food regularly. The waiting staff at breakfast were very well organised and extremely friendly.
We didn't eat in the restaurant but the meal at the wedding reception was fantastic considering there were 180 guests.
From the front of house staff to the night porter (Denis..a special word of praise for a perfect gentleman and an asset to any establishment).
We had booked a smoking room..the web site gives you an option..but when we arrived we were infomed that all the rooms are non smoking...they gave us an upgrade though to a larger room with a balcony so we were well pleased.
The bed was a king size...massive and very comfortable and we never heard a sound all night.
All in all a very pleasant experience and while the hotel is a bit out of the way, the little village of Tower is 5 minutes away by car and has a lovely Centra supermaket, off licence, cash point etc.
The reception staff also booked a hairdresser appointment for my wife on the morning of the wedding.
We would have no hesitation in returning.

My wife and I got married here on the 20th of September in 2010 and couldn’t be any happier with the results. The hotel overall was incredible value for money and the guest lodges really helped seal the deal as we had a lot of family travelling from over the UK and Ireland.

The lodges are essentially self-catering accommodation and come with fully equipped kitchens, sitting room, tv, etc. This was a big hit with guests, especially those with children who could relax and settle in before the wedding. The prices were very good too; I believe they were €106 a night which meant two couples could share it very cheap.

People staying in the main section of the hotel were very impressed too with the facilities and accommodation.

For the big day itself, Caroline, Eamon and the crew were amazing and were available to meet any of our needs. The presentation of the dining area was great, the food was incredible and we heard nothing but positive feedback on that point especially. All throughout, there was a large fleet of staff on standby waiting to serve food, pour wine and so forth which was very refreshing – many hotels attempt to juggle two, even three weddings at a time and this was not the case for our big day. The bar for the wedding is contained within the John Daly suite and is staffed at all times – no having to go to another room or wait around like in other places.

The bridal suite was spacious and comfortable - due to time constraints we unfortunately did not manage a peek in the spa area but heard compliments from several guests afterwards. The rooms all had internet available for free – I mention this in particular as I have stayed at hotels that charge for internet and find it incredibly frustrating so this was a pleasant discovery. Additionally, the hotel have a deal with the nearby Blarney Castle whereby you get free entry on your wedding day for free (if you want your photos there) which was a nice touch.

Throughout our stay the staff remained friendly and attentive – from the night before when we had about thirty of our party relaxing in the lobby with tea and drinks, right through to the checkout morning and breakfast.

Overall we were thrilled with how things went and were pleased with our decision to marry here. The hotel represented incredible value, service and friendliness and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to marry.

I have recently returned from a lovely midweek stay at the Blarney Golf & Spa Hotel. The location of this hotel is lovely and the facilities were just as I expected. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in need of a general overhall, ie paint, new carpet, fix heating. Another item which should be addressed is that visitors should be informed on arrival that food is not served in the restaurant on certain nights of the week. We were given a list of opening times and it did not state on it that dinner was only served in the bar. Finally the menu which was on the dine with us & stay for free package was not the same one that we were given when ordering our dinner. If these problems were address this hotel would be well deserving of its 4 star rating.

The hotel plays itself up much more than it is really worth. It was, indeed, a beautiful place. But, because we were traveling, we didn't have a car with us. The staff had assured me that it was not a far walk from Blarney. It was about 5 miles. The bus we had taken dropped us at the bottom of the hill from the resort, and we walked the rest of the 2 miles uphill with our luggage. When I expressed my frustrations to the reception staff upon arriving, they simply laughed. No apologies. When we got to our room, it was nice and very pretty, but again, much more played up on the website. One excellent part of our stay was the resort bar located in the reception lobby. The bartenders were excellent and they had good live music! All-in-all, I would recommend this resort, but only if you are not traveling mostly by foot!

Just back from a very relaxing girls (6) weekend at the Blarney Golf and spa. Our group took advantage of a half price offer on pigsback.com €54 2 nights B&B. It was worth every penny, a fabulous hotel, very very spacious rooms with all you would expect of a 4 star. We had the early bird dinner at €25 for 3 courses including a very nice glass of wine, great value for magnificent meal with excellent waiters. Didn't use the spa but did use the pool, sauna etc again very spacious pool area and changing rooms. The only flaw was the 2 changing room showers were cheap much like a public swimming pool version, when the shower next to mine was in use the water sprayed over the dividing wall onto me, annoying when you are drying yourself.
We are not interested in golf but the course looked spectacular and we did eat lunch in the clubhouse very tasty and reasonably priced.
We take several hotel breaks each year and I must say its been a while since we have all been as impressed with the overall look and facilitues of a hotel and very pleasant and professions staff. We have already decided its worth returning too..
Note to management though a few roadside signs to direct travellers to the hotel would help as it is hard to find on a dark night.

Have returned from one night at this hotel . Was very happy with everything, the room was huge and spacious.LOVED the bed really soft , very calm and peacful hotel great place to go and unwind, even though i dont play golf i t was ncie to walk around. Ate at the lions den for lunch great value burger and a glass of wine for 10e, food in the restaurant was top class also. There was a good crowd in the bar and live music, Lads in the bar were all very friendly and helpful, free wi fi in the public areas and free broadbands in the bedroon. Couldnt fault the hotel or service. One personal thing- the girl who checked us in at reception and who we dealt with a few times that day was in the bar drinking that night. I dont really like this most hotels dont allow staff to socialise in their hotel areas , but as i said to others that means nothing just to me it felt wrong.
