“Good value for money and excellent location”

Overall, this is a nice place to stay for the price. The day to day cleaning of the room was good (towels, sheets, bathroom, hoovering) but the rooms could benefit from a deep-cleaning once in a while. For instance, the mini kettle which was provided was dirty on the handle and the lid and clearly hadn't been cleaned for a long time. I had to clean it myself before I was comfortable using it. The same could be said for the handles of the windows, door handles, light switches and little things like that. They are small things but things which could be easily improved on to give a better overall experience and to make the room more comfortable. The televisions also need attention as many stations are not tuned in properly and are not being used to their full potential.

The cafe next door was excellent but it would be nice to have the option of cereals/fruit and a more continental style breakfast too. If you are staying there for business for a few days you may not want to have a fancy brunch-style/full-Irish breakfast every day, although it was nice for a treat! The standard of food there was excellent and the staff friendly without being OTT.

Overall, I found this place relatively comfortable and good value for money. However, one or two easily-implemented changes could make it an excellent place to stay.

Very nice place, a little bit noisy if you have a room street view.
Very clean room, but the carpet is stained, very bad looking!!! PLease remove this carpet!!! Otherwise everything was fantastic.
Good location, 10 minutes walk from Downtown Cork.
Good choice of breakfast and brunch, and very delicious.

I have stayed in about 6 B&Bs and hotels in Cork city and can honestly say this is the nicest place I've stayed in. Location is great, a six minute walk gets you to Grand Parade. Place was bright, clean and airy and the breakfast served in the adjoining cafe the following morning was superb. The owners, Tim and Aideen were really friendly and nice people, free WIFI offered and I was also asked if I needed any information on the locaility. For 60 euros for a single it was worth the money to stay in a comfortable place so close to the city. Will definitely be staying here again in future.

The reviews are deceiving. This is a dirty poorly kept B&B. Layers of dust on window sills & wall pictures. Carpets in room and stairs filthy. The mattress was old and sunken however the bed Lenin was clean. Timber panelling missing in two areas by window with concrete brick wall exposed. Latch broken on press door to access kettle. Tea bags not wrapped and unhygienic as may have been handled by previous guests. Clean towels in room but did not risk taking a shower as area unclean. Door lock not very secure & no reception to return key next day. Full amount (€60.00) taken at time of booking so no option to checkout and go elsewhere. Neither was there anyone available to complain to. Stale odour in room & throughout premises, this odour lingered on my hair and clothes the following day. Breakfast was choice was ok - cooked breakfast only available, no continental options. Given filth of premises did not order breakfast as standard of cleanliness in kitchen uncertain. Expensive (€60.00 for solo traveller) and represented poor value for money. Surrounding street filthy also and littered with excretiment which made walking on pavements difficult - this is an issue for the city council however business owners have a responsibity also. Will never stay in B&B in Ireland again.

Location is great for UCC (5-10 min stroll to main gate, about 20 minutes to health science building) and to stroll into Cork City (about 20 minutes into Oliver Plunkett St.). Breakfast was also yummy - make sure to allow enough time, it's all made from scratch. Dinner also looked awesome but I had arranged to meet friends in the city...will be making sure to try for next time.

Room Tip: Room 10 - very quiet double room at the back of the house, will definitely be asking for it again!

Rooms are clean and comfortable with tea & coffee facilities and a TV.. Our bathroom appeared to have been recently refurbished and was modern and very clean. Breakfast is provided by the attached Bistro (also owned by the B & B owners). Fantastic choice over two days we had eggs benedict, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and the full Irish all were amazing and included in the price. We also had one evening meal in the Bistro which, again was lovely and good value. A very friendly place and we would definitely return.
Our room was at the top of the house so quite a few stairs so possibly not great for those who have difficulty with this.
