“Delicious dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 October 2012

The staff were excellent & food was fantastic, I’m always a bit hesitant at eating in hotels but this was a revelations- thus eating there two nights in a row! They have a 2 course menu which comes with a glass of wine or a soft drink which was €19.50 on Friday & €25 on Saturday. The restaurant was very busy on the Saturday but the service still excellent.

“Average”

Starter was disgusting and some of the staff were unpleasant. Disappointing as we were celebrating a birthday. On the up side main courses were good.

“A nice surprise!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 August 2012

We were staying at the excellent Belvedere Lodge B&B just a 2 minute stroll down the road from Silver Springs and decided rather than driving into town one night we would eat at the Watermarq. We went on a Sunday night; arrived at 7ish and left at 10.00ish, because the food and ambience were just so nice. I was travelling with my husband and father for a wedding in Cork and we all three of us love our good food. I was surprised at the standard here to be honest, particularly as the prices were exceptionally reasonable. It was about £19 a head with a glass of wine and 2 courses and about £24 for 3 courses and tea and coffee. There is a simple, excellently put together menu. I had the mushroom risotto which was actually perfect, followed by a tarte tartin which was delicious. My husband and father both had the chicken which was superb apparently followed by the Chocolate Marquise, of equal standard. The wine was so good we ordered a bottle. The ingredients were fresh and beautifully presented. You didn't need extra side dishes or anything like that. The service was good too and the restaurant has nice clean lines and plenty of atmosphere. It's the sort of place you can eat alone and feel comfortable, as well as taking your family and friends. If you are in the area I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Even better - after they have closed you can retire to the bar upstairs for a nightcap which is busy and vibrant.

“Comfortable restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 August 2012

We ate here as part of the hotel package which included supper. The restaurant was virtualy empty and the service was good. We all had different dishes and concurred that it was all excellent. As we didn't pay I can't comment on the price.
