“Overall, very good value”
Reviewed 13 March 2014

Went here with family (2 kids), restaurant was very busy but managed to get a table straight away. with the large crowd expected to be waiting to be served, but our orders were taken within 5 mins. The prawn crackers supplied kept everyone happy nibbling away until our starter (duck, pancakes etc) arrived. Main courses all arrived at the same time-very important when dining with kids and were plentiful. Waitress had taken request to temper the heat on on of the kids mains seriously, as the other mains were lacking in chilli, so were quite bland. Bill for 4 with a bottle of house white & soft drinks was €80. Very good value. One complaint regarding service, once mains are served it can be hard to attract waiting staff to order tea/coffee or dessert. Floor area is quite large but noise level is quite low & there is adequate space between tables to allow each party their privacy. If you fancy a good Chinese at a reasonable price Panda Mama is the place to go.

“An unexpected find ....”
Reviewed 1 March 2014

We nearly passed by this restaurant last night in Cork! We were actually on our way to dine elsewhere, and noticed the Panda Mama from a side road, but it appeared to be closed. Luckily we went around the front as there were no lights visible from the side where we were. What a surprise we got when we went inside. It’s really lovely – very elegantly decorated, spacious, clean and very welcoming. Service was very good and menu quite extensive. We had a delicious meal, excellent quality food, very generous portions and superb presentation. It was quite busy, the atmosphere was good and was reckon we got good value. There is a thriving take-away business too. The toilets were spotlessly clean. The restaurant has to contend with roadworks going on outside. It must be affecting business to a certain degree, as people as people are so busy watching where they are walking, and picking their way through upturned pavements and fencing that the restaurant could go unnoticed. We highly recommend the Panda Mama and will definitely pay a return visit next time we are in Cork city.

“3min Duck!”
Reviewed 28 February 2014

Visited this place on my own (tonight) Friday night ( ya i know ).
I ordered the Cantonese duck with plum sauce and fried rice. No more than 3minutes later arrived A plate of dry hard duck, just the duck notthing else, a finger bowl size of plum sauce and a drum of rice all separate nothing else, not piece of veg in sight.
My problem wasn't what i didnt get if what i got was good but it wasn't.
Had to order more plum sauce just to be able finsh the bone dry duck. Service was grand, no small talk as expected which is not always a bad thing, get you in get you out hence the 3minute duck

From the outside this place doesn't look much especially with road works etc but inside its spacious clean and inviting.

Our food was fantastic great portion size and full of flavour.
