Had a fantastic stay at Imperial Hotel, the room was large and had its very own Christmas Tree in it which I was chuffed about, and told everyone who would listen. The reception staff were very friendly, and extremely helpful. A wonderful Christmas experience. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

This was our second stay at the Imperial and we took advantage of their 'Christmas Tree' offer - stay two nights and get the third free (for those of a comic inclination try saying ' Christmas three' with an Irish accent :) ) which suited us as the first two nights stay came with breakfast while the third didn't and, as we were getting the 7.35 a.m. flight the day we left, it didn't matter..

The Imperial is perfectly located on South Mall, a short walk (literally a block) from Oliver Plunkett and St. Patrick's Streets which are the main shopping areas and isn't far from anywhere else in the city you might want to visit. It has history in that Michael Collins stayed there the night before he died! It is a grand old building with a porticoed front and marbled entrance, with the bar and coffee shop on either side as you enter the lobby. The rooms are what you would call 'traditional' but ours had a double and a single in and enough room for a desk and armchair as well as the wardrobe and TV stand. The bathroom is fine, with all the usual extras and the towels scored well in the towel test though could be a touch bigger! Our room faced South Mall which made it a little noisy and the TV wasn't perfectly tuned to all the stations but that didn't matter as we weren't there to watch the telly!

Breakfast is buffet style though anything other than scrambled eggs need to be ordered and this is best done with your tea/coffee order. The buffet offers plenty of choice - bacon, sausages, hash browns, tomatoes, mushrooms as well as juice, cereals, toast and pastries. We also had dinner one night as part of our deal and this was equally good - a good choice of dishes taken from the a la carte menu.

All in all a lovely stay and certainly somewhere we would go again.

Just back from a night here celebrating my birthday with some friends. Positives: hotel lobby and bar very cosy and festive, excellently located, within easy walking distance of bars and restaurants, beds very comfortable giving a great nights sleep. Negatives: stayed in room 245, which is in desperate need of some attention, very poky for 3 people and bathroom not up to 4 star standard. All in all would probably stay again for the location if a good deal came up!

Great location to do Christmas shopping. Excellent hotel and staff are super friendly and helpful. Winter rate of €55 for B&B is excellent value for money. Great ambience in the lobby. Arrived to hear harp being played and lovely Christmas tree. Definitely will be back again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the South Mall side are quieter.

My daughter arrived from Germany and I had book a few days away in the Imperial Hotel. I found the price very reasonable for us both. Check in very friendly, helpful and went off very professional. Had a brilliant stay except for the room, we were on the first floor and the lights were on outside the room, but the curtains were not attached properly but both of us slept in very comfortable beds, single covers need to be changed to double as bed clothes kept slipping off. The food was brilliant except as I was on a diet and found little for me to eat both for dinner and breakfast. Asked about this and they kindly offered me a beautiful ommlete. Would definately return to this hotel again and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Room Tip: Please try not get a room with on the first flood unless the curtains are fixed.

An impromptu trip to Cork for a night and needed a place to stay in the middle of town. Outstanding experience for a business traveler. Elegant old hotel, nicely refurbished, very nicely appointed with cafe, restaurant, spa, large rooms, comfortable beds, good lighting, famous Irish hospitality everywhere. Best of all is the proximity to entertainment district, though my room was dead quiet. Wonderful meal at the Market Lane restaurant a few blocks away. Spectacular farm to table w craft beers. Across the street is a quiet small restaurant well recommended, Opus? Oman? something like that.

Room Tip: Superior room!

This was a great place to stay in Cork. The location, staff and rooms were excellent. We had a great stay and would return. We were here for two nights in November. While the weather was cool and rainy, we truly enjoyed the stay. Cork was a nice stop in our travels in Ireland.
