My boyfriend surprised me for a weekend staycation at this beautiful hotel. From the second you drive in the grounds are breathtaking and any staff we dealt with were helpful and friendly. The room was amazing and the bed was heavenly. The only tiny thing I would say wasn't ideal was the shower door set up. It's a tub with a door so the water spills over onto the floor. For me though the view from our bed more than made up for that little shortcoming. I would highly recommend this place!

Room Tip: The rooms with the jacuzzi are pricey but verry worth it!

My wife and I took our daughter , son-in-law plus baby Jessica to Cork for a wedding in May. Having travelled all night from Cardiff, and getting to the hotel pretty exhausted, we had the warmest and greatest welcome from the hotel staff; namely Jason and Jenny. They provided coffee, cookies, scones etc free of charge while we waited for the room to be ready (it was only 10 am).. the level of service through out our three day stay remained equally as high.
We were extremely impressed how friendly and eager the staff were to ensure we enjoyed our visit - something that is missing in the larger chain hotels.
Well done Maryborough - great job.

Room Tip: Away from elevators if possible..

We stayed for two nights to attend a wedding and booked a Junior Suite. The room was great, a separate bedroom and living area, spacious and attractively furnished. The bathroom was modern and had all the amenities. A safe was a welcome addition and the internet was included in the price and worked without any problems.
The location is outside of the City but you can walk in 15 minutes to a small area of East Douglas with shops, restaurants and bars. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and there is plenty of free parking.
We ate in the bar the first evening and the food was great. I had an excellent lamb tagine and my wife had the oriental beef salad - we were both pleased with our choices. Drinks aren't over the top and the house wine is pleasantly drinkable.
Almost without exception the staff were charming and I was hugely impressed by the fact that even though the hotel was bustling, service was always with a smile, efficient and prompt.
Breakfasts were fine and we never had to wait for a table.
If we were returning to the area we would have no hesitation in staying at the Maryborough Hotel and Spa again. The wedding was great and the hotel did the bride and groom and their parents proud. A great experience at the Maryborough, well done!

Room Tip: Push the boat out and go for one of their Junior Suites.

I stayed in this hotel and hired one of the conference rooms for a few days this week. Very pleasant stay in a great hotel with great facilities. But what made everything special were the staff. Their attentiveness and the personal touch was top class. From check into check out, nothing was too much bother. In my opinion, the mark of a really great hotel are the staff, and this hotel is up with the best if them. Keep up the good work.
