The staff at Maryborough are a credit to the hotel. We have never come across a more helpful or friendly team. We had our 4 year old daughter with us and they could not have been nicer to her. The pool was also lovely and there were no restrictions on children swimming which we had found in other hotels. Our room was also lovely, only downside was the balcony which was a little grubby. We had lovely weather while there and spent most of our time sitting in the garden and playing hide and seek with our daughter. The breakfast was really good, everything you could wish for from the continental selection and then you could choose from the menu as a follow on. Dinner was ok but then I don't eat meat so was restricted in my choices. Would return again.

Dear Claire W,

Thank you for sharing your recent experiences of your stay at The Maryborough. We’re thrilled you found our team so friendly and helpful. They are a true asset to the hotel, and the warm hospitality they extend to our guests is an integral part of the culture at The Maryborough. We’re pleased you were able to relax with the use of our leisure centre and pool. I’m delighted you had the lovely weather and were able to take advantage of our gardens and unwind outdoors. I have made a note of your feedback regarding the balcony and will be passing that along to our management team. Thank you again for taking the time to post a review, and we hope to see you back again in the future.

Kind Regards,
Kristin L.

I stayed here at the start of June with a group of friends and the place is lovely and relaxing. The evening meal in the restaurant was very tasty. The lift broke down and from what I could see there is only one in the hotel. The gardens are lovely and everyone was very pleasant especially Kitty! The hotel is not located in the city centre but a few miles out in Douglas. Overall i must say that the people of Cork were great and it was refreshing to encounter pleasant and helpful people.

Myself and my friend stayed here 6th and 7th June 2014. The hotel is beautiful and the food was amazing. The only thing better was how helpful and nice the staff were. A special mention of Kitty in the restaurant and Jenny in reception who couldn't do enough for us. The only very minor negative was the the steep steps at the entrance as I have arthritis in my knees but it's a small price to pay for such a lovely hotel and we had a ground floor room which had it's own little balcony which was spectacular. The Leisure facilities were exceptional too. A truly relaxing and luxurious experience. Will definitely be going back. I can't recommend this hotel enough.

Dear Margaret M,

Thank you for your recent review regarding your experiences at The Maryborough. We’re thrilled you and your friend chose our hotel for your holiday. Thank you so much for the compliments regarding the hotel surroundings, food, and especially our staff. I’ll be sure to pass your kind remarks along to them, and I’m so glad they were able to add value to your stay. I would like to offer my apologies if our entry steps were any inconvenience. We do have a lower entrance without steps that might be a better option in the future. We’re also delighted you enjoyed the patio room overlooking the back gardens and had time to relax in our leisure facilities. Thank you again for your review and recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back again soon.

Kind Regards,

Had a lovely stay here for two nights for a friend's wedding. The hotel is beautiful, the food was lovely, the spa was very relaxing but the thing that thing that struck me the most was how attentive and friendly the staff were, without being overpowering. Thanks to all for a lovely stay.

John and Mairead

We stayed for two nights, Friday and Saturday 6th and 7th June and had a wonderful time. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the room was lovely, looking out on the beautiful garden. The breakfast is amazing, everything you could want is available, right down to a homebaked apple pie. We found the loacation very convenient, just off the South Link, yet the garden gives a feeling of being in an oasis of calm.

Room Tip: We were on the ground floor looking out on the garden so you could sit out and relax on the patio...

We had a wonderful time staying at the Maryborough. The rooms are very updated and the hotel grounds are lovely. Also, the staff were very helpful, for example when we discovered our electricity converter was not working for charging all our electronics. They supplied a converter, which worked great. We found that the hotel is not situated close to the center of Cork, but it was a small inconvenience since the hotel is such a restful haven. We would stay there again if we visited Cork.
