“Ideal airport hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 October 2011

This hotel does exactly what it's meant to: provide accommodation for those on extremely early or late flights. It's only 600 m from the terminal (uphill, mind) and you cannot hear aircraft noise. It's definitely the closest accommodation to the airport. If you're here for a city break to Cork, you should stay somewhere more central as it's about a 35 minute bus ride away (every half hour, about €6.60 return at the time of writing).

We opted for this hotel as we were on a 6:10 a.m. flight. Every member of staff we encountered (including all receptionists) was incredibly friendly and extremely helpful, even the guy who checked us out at 4 a.m. and drove the shuttle to the terminal.

The room itself was huge and clearly designed for business as there was a huge desk area at one end, even with European sockets. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The wi-fi was speedy with a good connection. There were signs of wear and tear, including a small dent in the wall and a rather odd, large black mark on the ceiling (there must have been quite a party). The bathroom looked a little dated but it was clean. The only things that really let the room down were the ancient TV (analogue) and there only being one bin in the room (not much of a complaint, really). In addition, the maids had left a welcome message on the pillow for the previous tenant. It was a good thing it had a date on it, otherwise we'd have thought we'd been given someone else's room!

That aside, the stay was pleasant albeit brief. We didn't try the restaurant and left too early to try the breakfast. They lay on a grab-and-go breakfast from 4 a.m., which is apparently included in the room price. Sadly, we left too early to try this as well! Despite the proximity to the terminal, the receptionist drove us there as the weather was foul.

One last thing: if you book using the Radisson website, you should note that the price you end up with is an estimate and not the final price. This worked in our favour this time, but it's just something to be aware of. I would definitely return.

Room Tip: All rooms are the same!

Stayed for one night after landing in Cork after a long flight. Very late arriving but night porter was lovely and could not do enough to help us. Got shaving cream and toothpaste for us as we did not have any (at 1.30am in the morning). Good nights sleep, cannot hear the planes.
But at breakfast the next day, there were 2 staff on who did not know how to serve, were not attentive in any way and one of who looked totally hung over (both males). The food was cold, toaster did not work and when I asked for toast I was told I had to make it with the toaster. When I said it did not work properly, he said it was the only toaster they had in the whole hotel! Surely a hotel kitchen could make some toast. And the charge for the breakfast €15. Rip off.
Staff attitude and lack of a manager at breakfast was terrible. Also no butter or marmalade out on tables at breakfast. Should not be charging €15 for a breakfast that you basically have to get and make some of yourself. Very disappointing for a Radisson.

We were given a lovely room 311. It has a fantastic view for take-off and landing. The room is sound proofed so the plane noise is minimal - also the airport is not very busy.
The reception staff were friendly and helpful. They gave me bus details for Cork and Kinsale as my husband would be at a conference. The room was spacious and had a nespresso machine - excellent. The welcome tray had freshly baked biscuits on arrival too. Toiletries were nice- especially the soap. The room had a desk and work chair, a settee and coffee table and a small bistro type table and two chairs. All on mimimalist lines.
The room was comfortable but the pillows were not the best. Breakfast was average only. We've both had better breakfasts at other Radisson hotels.

Room Tip: Ask for a business room - larger.

Enjoyed an overnight stay in the Radisson while attending a family occasion close by with my nine month old twin girls.
The rooms were clean, comfortable and warm.
The breakfast was five star with everything one would need.

However my main compliment has to go to the staff of the Radisson, Cork airport who were polite and courteous at all times, especially to Christine at reception, Craig and Joan in the breakfast room who went above and beyond to help us.

A number of mishaps occured before our departure however only for the above mentioned staff, we would have been pulling our hair out!!

Our car battery went dead and Christine kindly called and arranged a local mechanic to assist us at no charge. The evening before she also helped in providing me with a little washing up liquid to wash baby bottles.

Joan helped me seat and feed my twin babies and was extremely helpful in providing water for sterilising. She was an extremely warm person.

Craig from the start was very helpful and could not do enough for us.
We had to change 2 car seats from one car to another and did not know how to do it. We were also under time pressure. We mentioned it to Craig who came and assisted us which was no easy job. He was extremely patient and got us out of an awful fix. A lovely mannered man.

All I can say is that you stay at the Radisson because it is near the airport, however that has definately changed for me. From now anytime in Cork it will be here I stay.
I woke up in the morning extremely stressed with a number of mishaps and left extremely calm. It is perfect for staying with babies and kids. No problem with cots etc.
We will be back.

as i always read trip advisor before booking a hotel i thought we would go for the cork international, so booked 6 months in advance. to be told 2 days before that they were overbooked and we were being moved to the radisson blu. i had no idea what to expect or what reviews it had recieved as i was computorless!
i was unaware of the star rating until i got home, but i was more than happy with our stay the highlight being the staff. every single person we met in reception, the bar, breakfast was attentive and friendly. the room was clean and well equipped - but i would agree with other reviewers that a few new televisions would not go amiss. our room overlooked the runway and i quite enjoyed watching the planes taking off but opening the window did mean letting the smell of aviation fuel in.
we used the bar for our evening meal and everything came out nicely presented and cooked. food highlight however was the breakfast - absolutely first class worth staying here for.
although i booked for cork international this would be where i would return.

This is a perfectly fine and well situated hotel - the shuttle to the terminal takes a minute or so. The reception staff and shuttle driver are friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is wonderful. There is a good selection of paperbacks available to exchange or borrow. We had one major problem. We saw off a passenger at 5 am , had breakfast at 6.30 and returned to bed, setting our phone alarms for 11. At 8.10, however, we awaoke thinking a jet was taking off outside our window! There was a stink of diesel. A hoist had been positioned right outside the window. For the next hour, it was like Walter Mitty world - pukka, pukka, pukka, with decibel levels varying from irritating to 'Oh my sweet Lord stop!'

Room Tip: Stay way from the window!

Certainly not up to standard of a four star hotel - extremely dated room furnished with cheap furnishings that have not been changed since the beginning of the decade that included a small 90s era television.Curtains that let all the light in so much for a lie in.The bathroom was not much better terrible shower.Top it all off a musty scent too.Very slack room service.
Rude staff.
€89 with breakfast is a bit much to be asking.
