Gorgeous shop, great garden centre, fantastic cafe. Great menu. Salads are fantastic. Food very very good, tasty, fresh. Very generous portions. Love the pain is. Cake selection always awesome. It's my favourite lunch spot in Cork

“Good food stop near Cork Airport”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2013

This tucked away garden centre is probably not the place you would think to stop for food. I thought my friend, who is from nearby Carrigaline, was barmy when she took us here on our way from Cork Airport. Wrong. Its great, a café/bistro within a garden centre. Serving home made soup, quiches, flans and sausage rolls. Sandwiches and paninis, fabulous gooey cakes and scones. Brilliant home made salads (the butternut squash one is to. die. for.) Proper coffee and pots of teas and tissanes. I love it. My friends had soup and a sandwich, potato and leek soup served with soda bread and chicken and pesto stuffed paninis! OR roasted vegetable and goats cheese quiche with two side salads, OR cheese and pastrami wrap with a side order of soup. Yummy food, all freshly done. OK, they heated my quiche in a microwave but I will forgive them anything after a slice of that carrot cake! Staff are friendly although the service is a bit slow. The other downer is the toilets which are quite away from the café in a separate shed like building?? What's that about then? I don't know why they can't utilise some of the space they have for a not very inspiring shop selling Cath Kidston and a variety of bland crockery and build in some loos instead! This is not a chips and baked spuds place. But its great for soup, sarnis, salads, quiches and cakes. Used mainly by the locals its a hidden gem for tourists coming into Cork and heading towards Carrig and beyond....
