“Fantastic Day in Cork, Middleton and Cobh, Tracing the family”
Reviewed 11 July 2014

We wanted to see where my grandfather grew up. We had very little information. Janice took our booking and said she would see what she could come up with. What an understatement! Jim picked us up at the dock and said that they had some information and some ideas. Again an understatement. He took us to the grave site and church of my Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother. He then took us to the next town and introduced us to a cousin of my great grandmother. We spent time in their house talking about the family tree and history. Jim was not finished . Janice had done all kinds of research, so Jim then took us to the church where they were married. Next we visited the college in Cork where he said some of my relatives were on the roles of the college. We then went to a local expert who was able to trace our family records back to 1820. We had a great lunch at Anglers Rest in Cork with some great Shepard's pie and a local stout . What a day! I would highly recommend About Cork taxi tours. They will customize a tour right to your needs and they really go the extra mile . Thanks to Janice, Jim and Bob.

“Rave Review for About Cork Taxi Tours”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

We spent a wonderful, jam packed day with Jim from About Cork Taxi Tours. He picked us up promptly at the meeting spot just off the gangway and we headed out before the tour buses were even loaded! Off we went to Kinsdale where he had us set to be part of the walking tour of this area which gave us lots of background information and enabled us to see lots of off the tourist route sites in this quaint village. Then it was off to a lunch break at a local pub and when he learned that my brother-in-law was a golf enthusiast, he called the famous and prestigious Old Head of Kinsdale Golf Club and arranged for us to be allowed in in for a quick view and purchase of a golf cap! Stops at the Blarney Castle and Blarney Mills with lots of gorgeous scenery along the way finished off the day. A great day and tour was had by all thanks to Jim.

“Beautiful scenery & company”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

Bob picked us up at our hotel in Cork for a half day trip to Kinsale. We were a little apprehensive about our journey with Bob at first but that all changed once we got into his cab! Our half day excursion to Kinsale was much more than that. Bob can talk! In Kinsale we attended the walking tour and Bob steered us to a couple of shops where we found beautiful pieces at Kinsale Silver & the most reasonably priced souvenirs at another locally owned shop. After that we were on a whirlwind trip of Cork Co, with Bob telling stories and providing info all along the way. From the "moving" statue to having a pint a De Barra, needless to say the tour was more than half a day and so enjoyable. I think Bob only stopped talking for about 10 minutes the whole day. Hope to see you again Bob at our next visit to Ireland!

Our tour guide picked us up right on time got out before the buses at the cruise ship and we seemed to beat all the lines. We kissed the blarney stone and saw so much. Never worry about missing the ship they make sure your back in plenty of time. Loved it.

“About Corktaxi tours”
Reviewed 10 September 2013

We spent the day with Aboutcorktaxitours on 18 August while in port at Cobh. Our guide was on time and very porfessional. We arrived at Blarney Castle well before the crowds, and were able to "kiss the stone" without any wait at all. We toured the grounds as well, then headed off to Kinsale. In Kinsale, at the suggestion of Bob, we had a walking guided tour by "Don and Barry's Walking Tours". This proved to be a wonderful suggestion and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. Our guide had prearranged lunch for our group in Kinsale at a local pub. Again, great suggestion. From here we headed off for Barryscourt Castle and a tour there. All in all, the day was wonderful and very well organized. I highly recommend this company for your time in Cobh.
