Owner description: Fota Wildlife Park is Cork's most visited Tourist Attraction and has been awarded best family day out in Cork and Munster. The Park is set on 70 acres on the scenic Fota Island in the heart of Cork Harbour only 15 minutes from Cork City (top 10 in the best cities to visit in the Lonely Planet guide's 'Best in Travel 2010').The park is not like an ordinary zoo; here you can come face to face with free roaming animals & birds from all parts of the world. So whether it's a kangaroo that hops in front of you or a ring tailed lemur which jumps down from a tree, each visit is sure to bring its own fantastic memories. In addition to the wonderful array of free roaming animals, visitors also have the opportunity to see highly endangered species such as the Rothschild giraffe, European Bison, Lion Tailed Macaque and Scimitar Horned Oryx, most of them without the obstacle of fenced-in exhibits. This is the most spectacular aspect of Fota Wildlife Park, and is the reason you'll want to spend a full day exploring Ireland's Wildest Attraction.

“While away the time”

Fota Island And wildlife park is on the route to the famous Town Of Cobh in Beautiful East Cork. The wildlife park houses Wild Animals from all corners of the World. There is also a restaurant for people to find nourishment and drinks. The grounds also have some beautiful Walks amongst the tall trees to wander and enjoy. Allow a few hours for your visit and if traveling with young children be prepared to spend most of the day at the venue. A worth while visit which can be twinned with a visit to the Famous Harbour Town Of Cobh. The Park Will Be Very Busy During The Summer Months So Be Prepared For The Ques. Children really enjoy seeing and interacting with the Animals and the excitement they feel is lovely to watch.

“Wonderful way to spend a day”
Reviewed 12 March 2014

Fota Wildlife Park is such a unique and special way to spend a day. There's something so natural about the way virtually none of the animals are kept behind huge fences, and so many of them wander around freely. You come away from the day with amazing photos and great memories

“Day out”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

A day out with my grand kids was a great day had a great time at the zoo, even if my feet were walked off me, we then started on our picnic but we also bought hot food from the resturant which was very good value for money,ESP as food can be expensive in these parks, stafff were very busy, I taught they could have had a few extra to help and management didn't seem to jump in to give a extra hand to move the q as in my field of work we alway give a hand when needed ,toilets were fair to good, but as I say it was very busy and it's hard to keep up with everything ,but all in all we did have a great day so give it a go you won't be disappointed ,tip , take a pair of comfy shoes or else have a pair of soft slippers and a glass of wine to relax when you put your feet up, great EXCERISE for the whole family and gooo value on the family ticket also take the train as the children enjoyed thre whole experience

“You could see.”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

A good place to go on a dry day if you have kids. Some animals as small kangaroos, ducks or peacocks were walking free.
Maybe it was too early in the year (March) but it was very little variety of animals.
I found it too expensive for what we have seen.

“Great day out”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

A great day for all the family. Plenty to see and do. Depends on the weather! But that's Ireland. Just minutes from Great Island and Cobh town, which has beautiful views from the prominade and the Catedral. Can get a train from Cork which stops at Fota and then goes onto Cobh
