Sleeping for us (a couple) was two single beds put together, which was uncomfortable. The ceilings were very high and overall the place was decorated nicely. Unfortunately there were several spiders (and their webs) in the high ceilings! Lots of space in the rooms. The shower was good with a huge shower head and great water pressure. The views, even from a low room, were lovely and you could see ducks out of the window. The room was very warm for May! The window opened fully (no safety latches) which was very welcome. There were a variety of options for breakfast and the full Irish was very tasty. There was lots of parking but it was a bit scary to do in a hire car as it was very tight and steep! They were okay with our late check in and had good security.

We are delighted that you both enjoyed your stay with us and thank you for taking the time to write a review. Our ducks are indeed a great source of amusement to the guests and staff alike.
We hope you might some day return now that you know where we are
kind regards
Valerie

Gabriel House is easy to find, situated on a hillside in Cork, overlooking the workings of the city. The walled garden is an oasis of comfort and entertainment... Including the geese and chicken, and the herb garden. A perfect place for a relaxing glass of wine. The breakfasts here are excellent too. The best rooms go to those staying more than one night....if you are staying only one night make sure you clarify the room allocation.

Recommended here by another B-and-B when they were full and was very pleased that this happened. Seeing six white ducks scratching around in the fine garden set the relaxing scene that is Gabriel House. Only stayed one night as this was a business trip but would gladly have stayed longer if time allowed. Extremely clean, large and comfortable room. Very informative and helpful staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking garden and city.

Stayed for a couple of nights whilst on a city break to Cork. I selected this place on the basis of previous reviews & I wasn't disappointed! Typical Irish welcome; very friendly & welcoming & nothing too much bother. Rooms were very comfortable & clean & selection for breakfast was second to none. Even when we checked out we were invited back for tea before going back to the airport. I am considering another trip to Cork & I will certainly check availability at Gabriel House. Yes it is on a rather steep hill so if mobility is a problem you may need to enquire further but fortunately for me it was perfectly amenable & a very pleasurable stay.

Great service! We had large luggages, Kathleen was very kind to move us to the second floor. We were given restaurant recommendations where discounts are offered to guests. Breakfast was delicious with a range of a la carte choices. My mom had a cold so she offered a cup of hot lemon water with honey! Which really helped!! The rooms were comfortable and very clean, as was the bathroom. We were given driving directions that saved us time on our trip! Thanks Kathleen!
