Many restaurants in France would aspire to be this good. The maître d runs a tight ship. She has this restaurant running like a well oiled machine, dispensing gastronomic delights of epic design and flavour. We had lamb and beef that was so tender you could cut it with a spoon! Taste, A1. Presentation A1. There is nothing to dislike and the wait staff are friendly and attentive. If in Cork, don't miss this experience.

Thank Fran M

When you have a special occasion you want things to be right and to go well. Les Gourmandises is the place for high end fine dining that won't let you down. It is our third visit in three years and the food is unfailingly excellent, French, modern and varied. Choosing what to have from each of the courses was difficult. Personally I would have liked a more refined choice of the main fish course; fish pie or roast cod didn't appeal to me. In the end we both had slow roasted pork belly and without a doubt it was the best we had ever eaten.
Portions are generous across all the courses and you are left with the impression that it may have paid a high end price but in terms of value for money it was excellent. Finally the house wines are very good quality, and for around €8.50 represent good value. The staff were great - eager to do well; something you don't always see these days.

Went here again after a few years and although the food was very good it didn't quite live up to how I remembered it. The service and ambiance was lovely, definitely no complaints there. The starter, a charcuterie plate, was excellent but the main course and dessert were good without being great. Dessert especially was disappointing. Although I don't dine here often, I've never been anything other than delighted with my food which was slightly disappointing this time round. Gone slightly down hill but still good food.

Last night we decided to go out for dinner at the last minute and without a booking strolled into les Gourmadise. They are presently doing an offer of tapas to share, two main courses and two glasses of wine for €39 midweek, exceptional value. The starter (tapas) consisted of a little crab quenelle, pork terrine, spiced beef croquette, tapenade and warm bread, delicious. For mains there was a choice of salmon or lamb, the lamb was slow cooked, juicy and well flavoured. The salmon was simply cooked & presented and flavours were clean and delicate. Both of the wines that came with the offer were small glasses, probably 125mls (in my mind a good size, the standard measure of wine in Ireland is too large at 175mls), the white, a Colombard from the south of France was very round and full and paired well with the tapas, the red, a Carignan was pleasant if not as exciting as the Colombard.
Service was friendly, fast and female.
The dining room is not minimalist, Farrow and Balled, industrial cool or similar, it is old style which is comforting to some of us.....
Highly recommended.

Stunning food, perfectly cooked, well presented, good size portion. Great service, helpful yet not pushy, a good wine recommendation. We had quite a late booking, shortly before the kitchen closed, there was no pressure, no issues ordering a starter. Nice restaurant, cosy, nice victorian styling. A very tasty coffee to top off the night. Highly recommended.
