This is a top spot. Great location, excellent views, spotlessly clean and a lovely hostess Marie. Well done Marie. Highly recommended. Ireland is truly magical and the Irish are so welcoming.

Location is really exceptional: you are actually at the edge of the water! You have the ocean in front of you when tide is up ; when it is down, you can go walking along the shore and this way, you are at 5 mn walking from down town (otherwise, you need also 5 mn but by car!). Excellent B&B: comfortable, quiet; very good breakfast; rooms are clean and comfortable although not very big.

The great view of this B&B made us choose it, but we didn't realize when driving in that we could also take a short cut walk in to town around the shore at low tide, coming home around the road after dinner when the tide had come up. Beautiful house, lovely hostess, good breakfast (we chose fruit plate for a change) and other nice folks in the breakfast room made this a great stay. The self serve hot beverages and bisquits were welcome when we arrived, and having 2 chairs in the room to relax were bonus. We didn't realize that there was a common lounge, but were happy to regroup privately in our sea view room.

This must surely be one of the prettiest views in one of the prettiest towns in Ireland. It must also be one of the friendliest B&Bs in one of the world's friendliest countries!

My partner and I stayed two nights in musically-inclined Donegal Town at the aptly named Water's Edge B&B. The view from our comfortable bedroom across the lake was lovely.

Although the centre of town is a mere five-minute walk away, this property feels more like a secluded lakeside retreat.

The B&B itself is quite modern and, although some of the more colourful decor decisions were not quite to our personal taste, the genuine warmth of hostess, Marie, is memorable.

Our ensuite room was clean and fresh. It included a wardrobe, bedside tables, small TV and lounge chair.

A large guest lounge is stocked with books and a large TV, while the downstairs dining room is always open for a restorative cup of tea.

Add to the this the piled-high Irish breakfasts (or the healthier fruit platter), and the sum total is an excellent experience. Highly recommended.

A beautiful location overlooking the Donegal Bay. Marie was a lovely hostess and her house was so nice, clean and cozy. We had a beautiful walk to the City Centre and then back to the B&B for a glass of wine while enjoying the awesome view. We loved exploring the Abbey ruins and cemetery backing up to her back yard. A must stay :)

I have stayed at this B&B twice now and highly recommend it. The B&B is located right on the lake which is lovely and peaceful--a beautiful sight while eating breakfast. The owner is very warm and welcoming and she has an artistic touch which can be seen in the lovely decor of the home. Donegal Town is a short 5-minute walk and there are ruins of an old monastery behind the house which are great to explore.

Marie greeted us at the door and welcomed my husband and I. The we had a front room and were able to look out over the bay. It was a beautiful. Our room was very clean and organized, the bathroom was clean. There was a closet, nite stands on each side of the bed, tv, 2 chairs to relax in and a closet. We had more then enough room. Our bed was comfy with new sheets and bedding. There was even a heating blanket to use if we needed. Breakfast was wondeful, my husband and i both had a full Irish breakfast, we were very happy with our stay wehn we left. We will visit again and stay at The Waters Edge our next trip.
