“still a safe bet”
Reviewed 14 August 2013

dom's may not be the best in town, but it has one of the best views, is convenient to parking and delivers a decent meal at a respectable price. the service is only mediocre, perhaps because we’re usually eat a little earlier than others and the staff hasn’t fully arrived. still, as long we have a guinness and glass of wine to sip on, we’re pretty good, and dom’s is good about getting that first order in!

we almost always order fish at dom’s, preferably something local. i can’t say that the food is something to write home about. i can say it’s more than good enough to keep us returning. dom’s is a bit of an institution, one worth visiting while we save our fancier nights for castles, galway and dublin.

“30+ visits & counting.”
Reviewed 11 August 2013

LOVE this place! I've ben travelling to relatives in Donegal town for as long as I can remember and without fail I've eaten here.. There's nothing crazy about this place, except maybe the stairs. It's just a great place, in a great location with food that's done really well. Prices are as good as you'll find anywhere and there's a nice bar area to the front that's great for before or after you eat.

“Beautiful waterside location”
Reviewed 5 August 2013 via mobile

Dom's Pier 1 Restaurant is located right on the water, next to a huge parking lot. The atmosphere is cozy and the views very relaxing.

We had a party of 15 people and were seated immediately. We had two servers who were very attentive. I had the seafood chowder, which was thick and had large pieces of clams. It was very tasty. My main course was fish and chips. It was battered perfectly and quite good. All in our party of 15 seemed to enjoy the food and atmosphere.

“Fast Food has a new Meaning”
Reviewed 4 August 2013

Called in for Sunday lunch and we had a whirlwind stop. The grand prix teams would have loved it due to our speed. Shown to table and handed menus, got some drinks such as table water, then we were asked if we had selected, we had but the food was seriously quick and no real time to enjoy. Carrots were well past their best. Overall average food but please slow down on service.

“Professionalism is in the Taste!”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

We entered this place as a Family of 7 Adults and a Baby. Immediately, the staff came and assisted us pull tables and chairs together. Their Menu is quite varied and caters for every taste. As the food is prepared by order, there is a waiting period but the quality and taste is well worth waiting for. The Premises is beautifully decorated with a seafaring theme, and the sight of fishing nets overhead is rather a wonderful sight. There is a lovely view of the harbour and the riverbus out of the riverside window. Prices here are of a sensible rate and the service and staff are welcoming and good. we will return here again!
