We arrived on 3 August , we invited friends from England, well we were all blown away with this hotel. We have all stayed in some fab hotels in our times but we all agreed this was the BEST. From the time we checked in , it just got beter and beter. Our rooms were AMAZING - The Hotel set on the lake was Amazing - The food was Amazing - The Show was FANTASTIC on the wednesday evening. The lady owner did a brillant job of making us feel welcome and her personall greeting to everyone is a lovely touch !! well done to Harveys Point and all the staff there, We will definitely be back next year, and stay a little longer !!

Hotel location peaceful and scenic. Accommodation in the Deluxe room was spacious and comfortable with all conceivable facilities provided. Bathroom facilities were comprehensive and excellent. The Wednesday cabaret was varied and entertaining - all acts were very professional and the whole evening was well organised. Food was excellent with the "wine Bar" menu a welcome option from the a la carte. The buffet breakfast was well presented and all possible breakfast foods were available. Staff were courteous and friendly. Am looking forward to a return visit.

My wife and I spent two nights at this charming hotel at the beginning of August.

The positives:
1. Great location - we had a stunning walk in the environs of the hotel and went a little further afield to Murvagh beach. The hotel provided us with a complementary walking guide.
2. Great hosts - the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was great to have so many locals working in the hotel as this gives it an authentic feel.
3. The room was amazing - it was large and very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and had a large shower and separate bath.
4. The hotel was very quiet during the night.
5. The breakfast was buffett style, yet the chef was there to make pancakes and omelettes. The food was of a high standard and there was a good variety to suit all tastes.

The negatives (just a few picky ones):
1. The bog water, although perfectly safe, was a bit weird in the bath.
2. We ate in the wine bar twice. Although very comfortable and very tasty (the lemon tart was amazing!), it was a bit expensive for bar food and there wasn't great variety on the menu. Also, the portion sizes were more haute cuisine than wine bar. We ate one night in the Olde Castle Bar in Donegal Town, which has an excellent seafood menu and ambience.

Overall:
A very good hotel - it wasn't at all pretentious (contary to what some previous reviewers have said). We will definitely be back.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your comments in relation to your recent visit to Harvey’s Point. We appreciate all guest feedback as it assists us in delivering excellence and in addressing any issues that may arise. We will certainly follow up on your points raised regarding the Wine Bar although we would consider good value in our Wine Bar with prices such as €15.50 for quality Fish and Chips, prime Irish Sirloin Steak at €20 including sides and desserts at €6.50. In total, there are thirty items on our Wine Bar Menu. However, we will address portion size at our next weekly kitchen meeting. Once again, thank you for your comments and we look forward to welcoming you back again. Kind regards, Deirdre, Marc & Team.

Just back from a most enjoyable 5 night stay . We had been once before but this was even better . Just about everything was perfect, the food, the service, the room, the peace and quiet and the location, all were amongst the best we have ever experienced . As one of the inclusive dinners we were to have , we went to the cabaret on wednesday night. The show itself was a great night out, but the food, if anything, is even better than the normal dining room. it really was a fantastic night, just don't weigh yourself the next morning . One other thing, for those couples who have no small children or have managed to raise theirs, this is ideal, no running children in the corridors at 7am

Room Tip: Dont go for the courtyard rooms, get one in the main building and ask for a lake view

My husband and I attended our very good friends wedding which was held at Harvey's Point, so we stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is beautiful, with a superb lakeside location, it is tranquil and peaceful and the attention to detail is second to none. I could write so much praise for the staff and the bedrooms (we stayed in one of the Executive rooms), the bathroom is out of this world. I would stretch and pay the extra if you can for at least an executive room, unless you are bringing your dog and then the courtyard rooms are fantastic. The wedding was one of the best I have attended, from the hosting to the staff, the food and everything inbetween. It was so professional, yet relaxed. If you are thinking of this venue for your wedding then you will have the time of your life, it is superb. Breakfast was superb, a huge choice and again attentitive staff. I hope I can go back to Harvey's Point one day, I would highly recommend to anyone, you will not be disapointed. Thank you to all the staff who made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble and everybody was so friendly and warm, it has certainly left a huge impression on us being our first ever visit to Ireland.
