On our 5th visit to Harvey's Point for our 21st Wedding Annv, we can honestly say this hotel just gets better and better. We stayed for 9 nights and everyone made our stay wonderful. It was lovely to meet Deirdre and to be made to feel so welcome. We have decided to return in September for a 2 week stay.
I cannot understand how the Lough Eske Hotel next door keeps winning the Awards over Harvey's Point. We popped in again to the Lough Eske and the fireplace in the lounge was full of soot, all over fireplace and mirror - the sofa's were far from welcoming and also very grubby.

Thanks again everyone at Harvey's Point and look forward to seeing you on the 1st September to celebrate my husbands birthday.

From start to finish this hotel is amazing. The food is outstanding and the choice at breakfast is fab, there was a chef making fresh pancakes while you waited another doing omlettes with anything tou wanted for filling right in front of you.
So homely yet so extravigant set on the shores of beautiful lough eske. Cannot fault anything.

I had to work in Donegal which is quite a long way from where I live so a stay in the hotel was orgnanised for me. I hadn't been there before but someone in the office knew all about it and subsequently I was really looking forward to going.

If there were any glitches they were managed easily, quickly and without any hassle. All staff I came into contact with were professional, warm, and excellent at their job. The food was good, and there are some great walks around the place. The rooms were amazing (and I had one of the small ones!).

I didn't have a treatment at the spa so cannot comment on that- I had asked for the details to be sent to me twice. The first time they arrived with an incorrect contact phone number and the 2nd time it came around I was already out of the office. You may need to get the information in advance.

I would recommend this to anyone and am seriously considering taking my boyfriend up there this summer. Lovely!

Room Tip: The bathtub in my room was big enough for 5 people and came with a candle and lovely bath salts. App...

The other half and I stayed at Harvey's Point in March 2012 for our friends' wedding. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we felt so well taken care of. The food at Harvey's Point is OUTSTANDING - we both had the lamb shank which was so tender and delicious and even the food at the wedding itself was nothing short of amazing. Wedding food can be hit and miss, but the food at Harvey's Point was just out of this world. We had an Executive Suite which was enormous, with a jacuzzi bath, enormous bathroom, two-person shower, twin sinks and the bed was ultra-comfortable and we had the best sleeps ever during our stay at this hotel.

I only wish it was nearer to where we live and we'd go all the time, but we will definitely go back to Harvey's Point at some stage for another romantic break. It was just wonderful. The owners are on site all the time to make sure you are okay and they clearly take great pride in their hotel and in making sure everything is so warm and welcoming.

If I had one (tiny) negative it was that there was supposed to be a chef at breakfast to cook pancakes for us, but we waited for ages and he never showed up, so we just had the bacon and sausages that had been cooked already, but it's only a minor point - I would balance it out by saying that Harvey's Point offer their own healthy Smoothie for breakfast which is delicious and I was a big fan.

Well done - keep doing what you are doing.

Everything from stunning location to staff that were so friendly and willing to help to superb food our experience at Harvey's Point has been very memorable. The hoptel itself was inviting with a wram and comfortable athmosphere. From the outset in making our reservation it promised and delivered first class service and attention to detail at every turn. Chosen for a significant birthday celebration for my wife, in a part of the country neither of us had visited we could not have been happier. Located on Lough Eske with the mountains in the background it was idyllic with much to see and do in the immediate surrounding area and beyond. Thank you to all the staff at Harvey's Point we will come again

Just returned from a brillliant 2 night stay at Harveys Point. Everything from the tastefully decorated spacious bedrooms to the fantastic food was first class. We have stayed in many luxurious hotels around the country, this has got to be the best in every way; the relaxed atmosphere, wonderful surroundings, courteous staff, excellent food. Will be recommending highly to others and will definitely return sometime later in the year. Thanks to all for making it such a brilliant experience.

My partner and I have just returned from a 3 day stay in Harvey’s Point Hotel. We had great expectations after reading the many glowing reviews on Trip Adviser. However, alas, we found that our experience of Harvey’s Point seemed to differ from all these reviews. Don’t get me wrong – the hotel is lovely, the staff are friendly and the food is good.
But do not go to this hotel if you are a smoker and/or enjoy a cup of coffee whilst sitting outside!

We arrived Sunday afternoon after a long drive from Dublin and decided we’d have a coffee before checking in. We spied an outdoor patio area and asked a staff member if we would be able to bring our coffees outside so we could have a smoke (as we could in every hotel we have stayed prior to this) to be told quite curtly “no, you are not allowed to take hot drinks outside”. This we found quite surprising. I would expect that many guests would like to sit outside, admiring the view whilst enjoying a cup of tea or coffee!
Now I know that the hotel is a non-smoking premises, and many people look upon smokers with distain, but most establishments in the hospitality sector cater for guests that happen to also be smokers. We are, after all, all paying customers. Yes there are outdoor patio areas in Harvey’s Point – open to the elements and not heated. When we asked if there was a sheltered area that we could have a smoke we were shown to an area beside the outside door to the bar where there was a slight porch. It is slightly disconcerting to be standing like lepers, together with two other couples that were also residents, at the outside door of a 4 star hotel in the lashings of rain. In the end we had to resort to sitting in our car.
The patio areas did not appear to be high on the list of places to be cleaned either. We were in the patio just outside the reading room on Monday night and placed a paper tissue, which we had used to dry the seats, in an ashtray. That tissue, and cigarette butts, was still in the ashtray on Wednesday morning – not a nice sight indeed.

We left feeling that everyone is welcome at this hotel but some are more welcome and catered for, than others.

Dear Guest, We are genuinely sorry that you were disappointed with the Harvey's Point Experience and please be assured that we will take your constructive criticism on board. We endeavour to ensure that all guests are made very welcome to our hotel it is a pity that we did not succeed in this case. It is fair to say that our outdoor smoking facilities could be improved and we will look into this. Certainly, the areas currently in use should be kept particularly clean and tidy. It would be our hope that we could restore your faith in Harvey's Point sometime in the future. Kind regards, Deirdre, Marc & Team.
