Just back from our fifth visit to this magical hotel feeling refreshed and relaxed. Since our first visit I have been in awe. I am thrilled it has been voted for the second year 'Number One Hotel in Ireland' on Trip Advisor and I am delighted that I contributed to that award. What a fantastic location - peace & tranquility in abundance, the suites are the best we have ever stayed in, this hotel never fail to impress, the staff are such a fantastic team from the receptionists & porters to the bar staff and the ever professional and friendly restaurant waiters, waitresses and as for Nancy - well she's just a gem. I can't but wonder why it hasn't that fifth star. The quality of the food is like their suites - the best. This visit we have seen the renovations to the restaurant and how wonderful they are - we thought the view of the lake from the original restaurant was amazing but the new design is so open and gives the illusion that the lake is even closer which is so relaxing and just sheer bliss - planning my next visit

Dear Mary,

It is thanks to you and guests like you who have taken time to write of their experiences, that we have been voted Number 1 Hotel in Ireland for the second consecutive year. We greatly appreciate your continued loyalty over the years and we are honoured and humbled by such high praise.

Now we have to raise the bar even higher and find new ways to delight our guests! This is the fun part and one that each and every one of our Team have a role to play in. We are so fortunate to have a team of wonderful staff who really care about our guests. Nancy and her colleagues are fine examples of Irish hospitality at it’s very best.

We are delighted that you are impressed by our new look in the Restaurant. We are still tweaking little bits but so far, feedback is excellent which is very rewarding and encouraging.

The warmest of welcomes awaits you on your next visit.

Kindest personal regards,

Deirdre, Marc & Team.

Harvey's Point is a fabulous hotel. It is situated on the shores of Lough Eske near Donegal town with wonderful views over the lake. We stayed recently for two nights on a mid-week break. Everything in the hotel is of the highest standard. Our room was beautifully furnished and all the little items for a luxurious experience were there. The food, breakfasts and dinners, were of a first-class standard. Above all, the courtesy and helpfulness of every member of the hotel's staff with whom we came in contact made our short stay a most memorable and enjoyable one. There was not a single negative element to our visit and I can give this hotel my highest commendation.

Top class service you would expect from a 5 star hotel, starting with the jolly porters and professional desk staff.

The rooms are great, spacious and suitable for couples and familys alike. Lots of space in hotel, with nice walks on the grounds.

As a wedding venue - one of the best.

Staying with relatives in Donegal, we visited Harvey's Point for a family celebration meal on Saturday evening. We've eaten and stayed here before several times and knew what to expect. As ever, the food was excellent, with a great menu, although a little suprising to see only a fixed price 4-course available. But the range of dishes and quality was outstanding.
With a complimentary 'amuse-bouche' the meal was among the best you could wish for. Standing out from many great dishes was a ribeye steak, cut from a slow cooked joint and wonderful - the best I've tasted since something similar in Denver a few years ago.
The wine list had a good range, but one wine we chose was not as described - the newly printed list had the wrong vintage and varieties for one we would otherwise had tried. But our mid-priced red was divine.
Service was great - engaging and responsive.
The one thing that takes the rating from an otherwise 5* was the recently re-designed restaurant. The hard tiled floor and bare tables had a feeling of a bistro cafe, out of keeping with the food and service. The hard floor meant the overall ambience was noisy and conversation was more difficult, especially for our older guests. Emphasising how silly the tiled floor option was, the staff separately dropped and smashed three dishes/glasses in mishaps at other tables during our meal.

So, the food and service is at the top of anyone's game and with some carpet on the floor and linen on the tables, Harvey's Point would be unbeatable.

Dear Guest,

We are happy to receive your feedback on your recent dining experience at Harvey's Point. It is always our pleasure to welcome you back and thank you for choosing our hotel for your family celebration event.

We are thrilled to hear that our food offering was well received and thank you for your kind compliments which I will be delighted to share with our Kitchen Team.

Your points in relation to the noise factor we accept and this is something we are presently working on, thanks to constructive feedback such as this. There has never been such a 'buzz' in our restaurant before!

The wine list is in transition from the old one to a new one and I am sure any inaccuracies will be sorted very soon.

It is our hope that you and your family will continue to visit Harvey's Point and as always a warm Donegal welcome will await you.

Kind regards,

Deirdre, Marc & Team.

Having spent a long career in the hospitality and service sectors I can say without hesitation that the service standards, hospitality and overall experience we enjoyed at Harvey's Point was second to none. My wife and I spent our special anniversary at Harvey's Point in a Lakeshore Suite and from our arrival to departure the friendly professional staff could not have been better. We would like to single out Nancy in the restaurant for particular praise and our thanks to her for making the overall experience even better. Having stayed in the finest hotels around the world Harvey's Point will always be our special favourite, and we will return again as soon as possible. Ewen & Joan, Dublin
