My husband and I have stayed in many very nice hotels over the years and this is one of the best. The hotel's attention to detail was so appreciated. Everything was well done and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Congratulations to the management and owners for putting together such a special place. We will return. The Patons

Room Tip: All the rooms are fabulous. Very large and spacious baths.

Beautiful hotel in stunning location. Wonderful friendly staff. Amazing breakfast, very comfortable bedroom with immaculate facilities. Had dinner one night, we thoroughly enjoyed the crab starter and duck for main course was delicious, yum yum. Amazing views as we were blessed with the weather. Can't wait to go back

Dear Guest,

It was our pleasure to welcome you to Harvey’s Point and thank you for your kind compliments in relation to your experience. We are thrilled that you had a wonderful time in our hotel.

The crab and duck dishes are firm favourites on the menu. Our kitchen team will be pleased to hear your praise of their efforts.

We hope you will make the return visit from Cork sometime in the not too distant future. Thankfully, the roads are well improved to ensure a pleasant driving experience.

All we need then is the weather!

Kind regards,

The Gysling Family, Noel & Team.

A really large room and very nice staff and a truly fantastic mid week buffet breakfast with everything including omelette chef were the highlights. The carpet in our room badly needed replacing and the yellow peat bog water coming out of taps was disconcerting. Could not bring myself to make tea with it, but overall a solid choice if you are in the area.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for sharing your comments following your recent visit to Harvey’s Point. It was our pleasure to welcome you.

We are delighted with the amazing feedback regarding our breakfast buffet. Since we upgraded our restaurant last winter, this gave us the opportunity to create a breakfast buffet with plenty of space for all our food options, including an open style kitchen for the chef to make omelettes and carve honey roast Donegal gammon.

Thank you for referring to the carpet and as with all areas of the hotel, this will be addressed in our ongoing repairs and renewals programme.

The bog water comes from the lake and is treated so that it is safe to use. However, it is fair to say that the colour can be off putting.

We hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip and brought home many happy memories of Ireland.

Kind regards,

The Gysling Family, Noel & Team.

My girlfriend and I travelled to Harvey's Point for a two night stay. From the moment we arrived and checked in we were amazed at the luxurious surroundings. We stayed in a lakeview suite and could not believe the sheer size of the rooms. Check in was swift and staff so very polite and Sean even gave us a brief history of the hotel as he showed us up to our room! The room was breathtaking as we had our own hallway, massive bar, not mini enormous bathroom with a bath tub like a small swimming pool! Then the bedroom/sitting room was fantastic 40inch tv and views of the lake! The bar in the evening had a lovely aroma of burning turf and the cocktails were gorgeous. Food in the restaurant was impecable. Although a more varied menu would have been better. We will definitely return, and highly recommend.

My wife and I spent three nights at Harvey's Point in July. From the friendly and professional check in, where we were given a room upgrade, to the point of departure everything was enjoyable and mostly as we expected.

The bedrooms are simply the best we have ever seen - bigger with better fixtures and fittings and more facilities than any other we have experienced anywhere in the world.

When compared to the bedrooms the public areas are a little disappointing. The seating in the bar is without question the most uncomfortable we have encountered. The residents lounge is a little stuffy and strangely enough, even though the seats look comfortable, they are not.

The food in the restaurant is good, although expensive and the choice limited. The bar food menu is very inadequate and what is offered is expensive and unimaginative - it seems that management can't decide if they are offering bar or not - this area needs attention.

The location and vista of the hotel are spectacular and it is clear that management and staff go to great lengths to ensure their guests have a most enjoyable stay.

We will certainly return.
