Quite nice hotel and staff friendly. BUT. Room way too warm (and it was only May) and no way to open the windows more than a crack AND no air conditioning. Also, and this is a common bugbear, there was not enough milk provided in the room. Why do they do that?

Typical OK hotel but where nobody has actually gone through it and thought like a customer. Very common but we certainly notice it when we find one that does, and we did, and we will stay there again not here.

Great value for great food and the staff are more than happy to help. Rooms are almost sound proof so I didn't hear a thing! The location couldn't be anymore perfect it's in the middle of Donegal Town and you are an arms reach to every business available there. This hotel even has it's own nightclub, "Sky Nightclub" is open Saturday nights from 12:00 am till 2:30 am, admission is free for residence. Suitable for any group, family, friends, business or even solo.

Room Tip: One at the rear of the hotel and not on the first level.

The hotel is in a great location in the centre of Donegal town. Staff were very friendly, the room was clean & well equipped. Our room was to the rear of the hotel & although there was plenty of entertainment going on, we didn't hear any noise. Would definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: I would suggest a room to the rear of the hotel, as the river runs behind it & it's relative...

Couldn't fault the hotel. It was clean the staff were very friendly. Nothing special about it very old world feeling but honestly no complaints. The Breakfast was fine. Very central and nice atmosphere in the town of Donegal. Had the fisherman's pie for dinner there and it was absoutley gorgeous, the food here is lovely any you get plenty of it! Would recommend!

Great location in Donegal Town. Staff very friendly and got us our room at 11am, we were meeting a lady at 11am and didn't expect to have our room early, so very well done. The room was spotless, we had a view of the river. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. We had a double bed and a single in our room. Plenty of space, wifi was very quick. Breakfast was plentiful I can't stress how friendly and helpful the staff are in this hotel, will definitely stay again. Hotel provide you with a ticket for car park with no charge which is always a nice touch.

Room Tip: Room 212 close to the lift but not noisy

We stayed three nights in the Abbey Hotel. It is very large and great for groups. The rooms were very comfortable, though not all of them enjoy a view. Breakfast was an excellent buffet with plenty of choice. Dinner wasn't quite so good, and featured an awful lot of mashed potato piped on to every plate, though given that the hotel is catering for large numbers it was OK and there was plenty of it. The dining room staff were all very young and inexperienced, but they were enthusiastic, cheerful and keen to please so the occasional hiccup in service was acceptable. We didn't much enjoy the live music in the bar, which was sometimes a bit corny and usually too loud.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the river.

Our hill walking group of nineteen people all relaxed and very much enjoyed their stay in the Abbey Hotel. The food was delicious, both dinner and breakfast. Some members of our group still talk of how much they enjoyed their hearty breakfast each morning. The rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortable. At all times, the staff were most welcoming and pleasant. We booked our stay through their excellent sales manager, Shona, who was ever patient, delightful, kind and helpful. This was our first hill walking trip away, and our stay in the Abbey Hotel turned out to be an excellent way to celebrate the club's first anniversary. Happy memories! And some say the guinness was very good too!!

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel are quieter.
