“Lovely, warm, welcoming cottage.”
Reviewed 18 February 2018 for a stay in February 2018

When we arrived and were met by Gareth Brown we found him to be so warm and friendly and welcoming. We then went into the cottage and it really felt like a home from home. It is such a beautiful place, the view is stunning and the cottage itself had everything we needed including tv, WiFi and is so beautifully decorated that we just loved being there. There is just so much to see and do in Donegal that we can’t wait for our next visit and will definitely be booking to come back and stay at Rosswood Cottage again.

“Freezing house, landlord ignoring us during stay then insulting us in review.”

Review that we left on AirBnb, sharing it here as well for obvious reason.
We rated it 2/5 on Airbnb, rating it 1/5 here considering his insulting answer which left us speechless..

Our review:
“Overall a poor experience.
We went there on a very cold weekend (2 degrees outside) with snow. Upon arrival at 17h we felt the house was really cold. As Gareth wasn't there but had simply left the cottage open for us, we followed the instructions provided on a leaflet to "contact the owner if the house was not warm enough". The answer we received was basically "doesn't matter, I'll shut the heating down as planned in a couple of hours anyway. Too bad it's really cold outside".
After the heating was shut down at 23h, the house grew steadily colder. When we notified Gareth, asking him once more to restart the heating, our text was read but received no answer. Our evening of boardgames was cut short because we couldn't stand anymore to be in the living room. We slept wearing socks and scarves, burried under 4 layers of covers as we had to use the extra comforters from the spare bedroom + sleeping bags we found in a chest. Positive points : the cottage was really clean and the shower is amazing.
Too bad only 2 of us could use it in the morning as the hot water ran out. Gareth's cottage might be lovely in the summer with the view on the sea but I would avoid it at any cost during winter months…”

His review:
“From the moment they arrived they complained they were Cold Despite oil fired Central heating been on from 2pm to 11pm and 7am - 10am They phoned at 12.25 pm looking for me to put Heat on During the Night as well.. Property was adequately Heated I can only assume they must live in a Sauna normally”

“Beautiful location”
Reviewed 23 January 2018 for a stay in December 2017

The location is spectacular. Ideal for a quiet meander through the countryside or if you fancy something a little more energetic there are plenty of picturesque hikes to occupy your energies ! All equipment is supplied and is to a good standard. No complaints and would definitely stay again.

Randomly picked donegal town for a night out me and 2 of my friends . We booked rossmore cottage and it was just amazing . Such a cosy little house with everything you could think of in it . No distance from donegal town . Nice quite location with fab views . Gareth was absolutely amazing he came in and made us welcome and told us where to go in Donegal town and different things to do around the area . Would def recommend here if it's for a girlie weekend or weekends with your mum it's just amazing . Gareth we will be back . Look forward to our next visit :)
