Spent 1 night here and occupied a large bedroom(3 doubles). Very spacious for the 2 of us. Breakfast was great and we wre glad of the coffee and cake on our return from a Saturday night in the town!
Could do with a bar or at least a mini bar in the room! Would not hesitate to go back!

Truly service of the highest standard. Really warm welcome when we entered. Clean and bright room. Breakfast is five stars and even got a lift with the owner instead of paying for a taxi when I needed to collect my car!

The warmth of Sian and Michael's welcome and the little touches like home-baking and cups of tea made the first night of my first trip to Ireland a wonderful experience. My room was spacious, warm and had everything you might need. And my pancakes with maple syrup and bananas for breakfast was fantastic! A really lovely place to stay and I look forward to going back sometime.

Very difficult this one !!
The owners are giving their best, maybe too much. On arrival coffee, tea and fresh scones were waiting for us. We got a free upgrade to a superior room. The prices are very moderate. Breakfast is ok, but my pancakes were cold 2x. We had supper one night and the food was delicious. We asked to change a starter, no problem. The rooms are comfortable but hard bed. There is Free Wifi.
There is just one problem.... call it the personal touch or lack of character ....... something's missing. The dining room needs freshness the most. It lacks style. I Hope not to have offended anybody.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and don't worry, no offence taken. It is the first year that we have offered a refreshment table with home made baking and it has been a great success with me, who loves baking and our guests who appreciate the warm welcome. I am also delighted you enjoyed the dinner but very annoyed with myself that you didn't have an opportunity to let the waiting staff know about the pancakes. Since we introduced our breakfast menu, the pancakes have become a popular choice and they are made fresh each morning, we have reviewed our system and this should not have occurred. Please accept our apologies. Regarding the style, we chose a warm Irish Pantry theme for the dining room, since we are in a rural area and a medieval theme for the lounge because of the name, Donegal Manor, however when we are ready to refurbish, my mind has now been opened and I might now consider other themes.

We stayed in Donegal Manor in December 2011, we were attending a wedding locally and Donegal Manor was the perfect base for us. There were 28 of us altogether and we literally took over the Manor for the three days of our stay. Our hosts Sian & Michael could not have been more welcoming and there patience is to be applauded. We decided to eat in the Manor as a group on one of our nights and the food was exceptional, breakfast was also excellent. The rooms were spacious and clean and would give any 4 star hotel a run for its money. All of our group without exception were very happy with their experience in Donegal Manor and would definitely recommend it to anyone lucky enough to spend some time in Donegal!!

Thank you for the great review. I am delighted that the family were able to enjoy Donegal Manor to themselves for the three days. Lots of laughter and fun was had by all, which is what the festive season and weddings are all about. Donegal Manor is just the right size for a private family stay.
