“Lovely hotel in peaceful surroundings”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 February 2014 via mobile

Stayed here for a girly weekend with my mum and sister. Hotel is beautiful and breakfast was fabulous. Part of our package was dinner on one evening which was also beautiful. In such a peaceful spot. So quiet. Staff were excellent and couldnt have been more polite and helpful. Breakfast does get quite packed out so my advice would be to go down early. Also there are weddings on most days though I have to say we werent disturbed at all. Also would recommend going into donegal town - if you are wanting a meal out there is a beautiful indian restaurant. Taxi is only about 5 euro.

My husband and i stayed at Lough Eske in January bought to us from our two sons for Christmas. My son booked the Junior Suite only to be told when we arrived that this was not available, We drove from the North and were really looking forward to staying here but this was very disappointing and unfortunately ruined the experience which should have been a relaxing time. The member of staff was unhelpful and gave the impression that you could have went home if you had of wanted to drive that far. Whatever happened to the Customer being always right. If it stated a Junior suite then this should have been the case Considering this is a Five Star Establishment they were very unorganised and unhelpful.

I booked a two night stay at the stunning Lough Eske Castle for my girlfriend over valentines weekend. It's the greatest experience I've ever had thanks to the amazing staff at the castle. The castle was stunning. The rooms were so comfortable and the food at Cedars restaurant was incredible. We also had afternoon tea which I must say was amazing. I 'd like to finish by saying that the hotel should be proud of its staff, they are a credit to Lough Eske Castle.

Recently stayed here for work conference, absolutely fantastic experience. 5 star definately, stayed in garden suite room opposite spa area. Room was huge, more like an apartment with couch and gas fire, king size four poster and massive bathroom. Food excellent and staff very friendly and efficent. I would come back again with my husband if i could afford it. Beautiful grounds but didnt get to see much of it as it was snowing and raining. In response to previous reviewer who thinks people are being paid to say good things, well i'm not, i give credit where credit is due

My wife and I booked this establishment for a two- night New Year's stay. The package, which was very pricey, sounded good. It promised a New Year's Eve pre dinner drinks reception. But on arrival we were informed that we had to pay for the drinks.
It promised a Champagne Brunch on New Year's Day, again we had to pay for some bubbly, Prosecco at 9.50 per glass. Serious hose job.
The place is magnificent. The staff were brilliant. The setting is beautiful. But beware, you may not get what you are promised.

It's disappointing to hear of the issues you encountered regarding the welcome drink on new Year's eve and Champagne at Brunch. These issues should not have occurred and do not reflect our usual high standards. I would like to offer both of you my sincere apologies and please be assured that I will be following these issues up with senior management.
