This hotel deserves its rating. Fabulous. We went in to Donegal Town the first night Euro10 each way in the taxi, and eat in La Bella Donna, great Italian food and good atmosphere, but if we had to do it again we would have eaten in the Hotel both nights of our stay. One night in the main restaurant ( If you check out my photos you will find the 2 parts of the dinner menu and the prices.) and one night from the good value bar menu. The food here just has to be experienced....well done to all concerned. We will be back again.. rates we paid 2 b&b mid week Euro450. Our total Check out bill for 2 nights accomodation, bar/wine and 1 dinner was Euro 650, and worth every cent. Go on treat yourselves you will not regret it. The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten.

We were made so welcome from the moment we arrived. Felt like we were getting some kinda VIP treatment. The staff were warm and friendly. The room was massive. The food was devine. The gardens were lovely to walk around. The spa was virtually empty so we had it to ourselves. From start to end was just lovely. Can't wait to go back.

We went here with my parents to celebrate my fathers 80th birthday - From the moment we arrived the friendly yet efficient staff looked after our every need. The spacious bedrooms and bathrooms are well fitted out and there are several comfortable lounge areas where you can relax and soak up the atmosphere. The food and service in the restaurant is exceptional. They even printed a special birthday menu and produced a glass of bubbly and a birthday gateau (this was a lovely touch which hadn't been expected!). The breakfasts are equally impressive with a chef cooking omlettes & crepes to guests individual requirements this is in addition to a vast array of other food. There are pleasant walks aroud the grounds and the beautiful Lough Eske drive. A fabulous hotel with great staff!

We stayed Solis for 5 nights mainly because of Spa and they take dogs. Cooked breakfast good, cold continental poor. Spa average and could be cleaner. Courtyard room adequate but little privacy unless you kept curtains drawn. The BIGGEST let down was the housekeeping, the floors were not cleaned or hoovered during our stay, I even found bits of glass left by a previous guest. After complaining to the Assistant Manager we were presented with a handful of chocolates when checking out! Get in Irish Managers or take a trip down the road to see how its done. Disappointing for a so called 5 star experience and Managements attitude more than a bit stiff especially in this climate.

We arrived with great expectations. The staff are superbly trained. The room was excellent. The spa facilities are outstanding and possibly the best in Ireland. Our meal in the restaurant was beautiful. However our sleep was disturbed by a noisy wedding party. The issues were dealt with during our stay by Marek and Nikki the duty manager in a very positive and professional fashion.
We were further contacted by Andrew Turner, who brought the matter to closure in exemplary fashion. Both my husband and I would like to thank all of the staff for their wonderful customer service. Indeed we are looking forward to a return visit in August 2010.

I have never stayed in a better hotel. The castle and surrounding grounds are magnificent. . It was refreshing walking around the castle, there was so much to look at. The bedroom was very spacious and luxurious, I could of quite happily spent my entire stay there. The restaurant had a fabulous ambience and the dinner was delicious. However, what truely made our stay was the friendlyness and service of staff.

Rally in DOnegal was cut short unfortunatley due to tragedy so we decided to stay the night here while on our way back home to Sligo. Had heard a lot about this hotel from friends and after only a small amount of difficulty finding it (his fault ) we arrived at this most magical hotel. It's a castle hotel and from the moment we arrived we felt completely relaxed and looked after. The rooms are absolutley gorgeous and we had a fantastic night's rest after a very lively weekend in Letterkenny with the rally goers. Would come back in a heartbeat and will be on the look out for any special offers!
