this place serves fish and chips as they should be. light, not salty, amazingly fresh fish, so fresh it almost melts in your mouth. but it is squeezed and not the place u would linger long after your food. but if u only want to fill your bellys, this is it. u can even order ur fish grilled instead of battered.

We ate here late in the day and they had no fish left. The chicken curry was good - too many mushrooms though - and the chips are amazing! A can of Coke will set you back an almost criminal €2.00 - disgraceful! but the tabel servers are friendly and the chips are good. Two currys with chips and two Cokes - €29.90 - very overpriced!

The room and the staff well as the food at their restaurant. It was easy walking to anywhere we wanted to go in Dublin.

The hotel itself - Kingfisher townhouse, is not much to look at and I think the restaurant is waaay more successful than the hotel.

The fish and chips - we had the cod as they ran out of haddock. But the filet of cod that was battered and deep fried was close to 2 inches thick (no kidding), perfectly cooked through and not overly greasy. Great fries. We had the Kingfisher seafood platter (a large) and 2 fish and chips and this platter fed 6 people comfortably. The seafood platter was just OK - smoked salmon, deep fried shrimp and goujons, which are strips of fish and deep fried. There was a shrimp cocktail like concoction. It didn't stand out to me as excellent. The fresh squeezed juice was seriously delicious. The bread and butter pudding was great. Very Irish, I'm told.

The place is a tiny hole in the wall. Seating is a bit cramped.

The stand out was the wait staff - our waitress Kristina went above and beyond the call of duty to accommodate 2 seniors, 2 young kids < 9 yo and really saw to our needs. So kind too - would just spend time chatting up another table of seniors. She was awesome.

It was not too expensive and I would go back.

I stayed at Jurys Inn across the road from the Kingfisher recently and decided to pick up a fish and chip supper to bring back to my room. The food was lovely and great value, and the staff couldn't be more helpful. I will definitely return again.
