great location very quirky and surrounded by great pubs and not far from central dublin. All amenities (like laundramat) were handy.

My family and I (6 adults) roadtripped across Ireland in the fall of 2010 (September/October). We stayed in a different B&B each night of our 10-day vacation. Aghadoe House was our 2nd-to-last night in Ireland. It's located on the north side of the city, within walking distance to the (free!) botanical gardens, and on a main busline. The city center is a short, easy 10-minute bus ride away. Buses are a great way to travel around Dublin--they are clean, convenient, safe, and affordable. Eugene and Margaret allowed us to check in early (late morning) to drop off our cars (in free, off-street parking) so that we could explore the city all day. They even helped us to navigate the bus routes (by telling us which routes to take to get to where we wanted) and sold us 2-day tickets to the Hop On-Hop Off Dublin Bus Tours (very convenient to see the tourist attractions in Dublin). Our room was on the 2nd floor with a window to the street. It was clean, but small (but really what do you expect in the city?). It had a queen-size bed and bathroom ensuite. Unfortunately, the bed was not so comfortable, but it sufficed. Irish breakfast was served the next morning in the first floor dining room. We discussed our travels with Margaret and Eugene over breakfast. We all wished we would have booked this B&B for 2 nights, but we already had a reservation at another B&B for our last night in Ireland. Margaret and Eugene were super helpful in making a phone call to our next B&B (which was also in Dublin) to see if we could check in early again to ditch our cars. Overall, it was a lovely stay and we would gladly stay here again!

We spent two nights at Aghadoe House and it was a pleasant experience. The twin room was somewhat small, but comfortable enough. The location is very close to the city centre, and there was a bus stop just steps from the house. Eugene was a great host, and the breakfast was very good.

If you're from North America travelling with an Apple laptop and you're having trouble connecting to the WiFi, let Eugene know and bring the laptop next to the wireless router. For some reason, the computer would not find the signal until I was right up on top of it, but then I could return to my room with a full signal. Eugene has this is common with Americans and Canadians.

Very close to the airport. Good location in terms of restaurants, variety stores, and pubs.

The room wasn't so big but very clean and comfortable.
The location is extremely good: you can take a bus or walk 15 minutes to reach the city center! Very good irish breakfast (loved it!) and the host was very nice with us, he really helped us!
Love staying here, and if I'll go back to Dublin I'll totally stay here again!

This was our first experience of B & B's in Ireland. We arrived and were warmly welcomed with a cup of tea. The room, however was quite small as we anticipated with close to the city accommodation. The bed was less than comfortable. However, our concern was openly listened to and we were able to change to another room and had a better bed and bathroom. The breakfast was acceptable. The best aspect of the B & B is the proximity to Dublin transport being within easy distance of the airport, next to bus transport to the city and within a few minutes of a very good pub.

Our stay at this b and b was anything but grand. The pictures on the web are often not what the house looks like and embellish it's true nature. The proprietor watched us like a hawk and we felt not at all at ease. The breakfast tasted like from the local gas station. The rooms were incredibly small and I would never return. I also noticed strange noises during the night and share the feelings that this place is haunted.

The area is far from the city and one must take a bus. The best part of the location was the pub across the street.

This was a small room, but expected in a city B&B. The only complaint I have is that no one was home when we got there, the owner had left a note for us to contact the neighbor to let us in, but it took a bit of bell ringing and it was beginning to rain. Anyhow, everything in this place is tall and narrow, but the only complaint I have is that it sounded like my bathroom was haunted because strange sounds were coming through the vent. Also, apparently they have a car park, but I didn't see it so I had to street park. Someone else complained of no hot water in the morning, but I stayed in room 2 with great water pressure and heat! Overall, it was worth it!
