Famous Pub on Dublin`s north side ideal for watching sport or reading the paper .They don`t serve Food or Children accompanied or otherwise so its for big people only .No Nursery Rhymes or Naughty Steps .Goody ,Goody hear yourself think. Great smoking area also.

“A Real Pub”
Reviewed 14 April 2012

Over 21's only. Not for the younger crowd. Great barmen and tasteful 'real pub' surroundings. Doesn't serve food, so no need to worry about people eating around you

“Favorite Pub in Ireland”
Reviewed 15 June 2008

Our first night in Ireland we took a walking tour of the area around the hotel in search of a pub for our first real Guinness. We stopped a “local” and asked for nearest pub. He gave us directions to the nearest but also said, if you want the best go on down further to Harry Byrne’s. We checked out both and glad we make the journey on down to Harry Byrne’s. This was a quaint place with lots of friendly people. We sat at the bar and made friends with those on our left and our rights. There was no music and no games, only chatter, which made this place our favorite and a must see for anyone traveling to Dublin.
