Celebrated a significant birthday at Dax, and certainly not disappointed.
Pleasant staff, and very good service throughout.
Delightful starters of smoked salmon and crab, beautifully presented with nice cucumber batons, plus various surrounds like egg yolk, capers, diced red onion and fish roe. Sublime.
Mains also artistic, the John Dory great, sitting in a lobster sauce with mushrooms. The braised streak similarly superb.
The desserts were more artwork, beautifully done.
There was an extensive wine list, though it was a bit disconcerting to open it to find two pages of expensive French grands crus, before getting to the more modestly priced, but still not cheap, selection.
Great stuff, and thoroughly recommended, though I would have thought more suited to a celebration than an every day meal out.
