“Not a boutique hotel”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 October 2012

In my opinion, this is not a boutique hotel. I stayed here recently on a business trip. The price was very good and the location is excellent but the hotel itself is cramped and all over the place.

I would expect a bit of luxury from a boutique hotel and this did not have any of it. First impression are bad when you go up a musty hall to find a reception area on the tiny landing in what looks like it may once have been a toilet. There is nowhere to wait while your room is being readied or if you wish to meet someone. The room was basic albeit functional but I expected more.

Overall, a disappointment based on how the hotel is advertised. That said, they charge budget prices so should market themselves accordingly.

The gorgeous jazz and cocktail bar downstairs filled us with such promise - only to be let down by the tiny box they called a room. The doors didn't open fully because it was so small - the bed was in the way!!! Old and unloved - it felt like a budget hostel - without the benefits!!! Terrible

Small hotel on Dame Street...2 minutes walk from Templebar, Grafton Street and 4 minutes from O'Connell Street.

Clean, free wifi and Bed and breakfast for €40 couldn't beat it

Le Cirk is fine, it's ok, it's grand for a night or maybe two in Dublin. The location is central, but it will not be quiet if your are there on a weekend, the street noise from Thursay on can be quiet overwhelming if you are not used to city noise. The rooms are average, I've stayed in alot better, and to be honest I've stayed in worse. The bathroom in our room was really nice and spotlessly clean and looked alot newer than the room. The staff are so so.We didnt have breakfast so can't comment on the food, but the roooms aren't bad value, so on this occasion you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: If you like the huslte and bustle get a Dame St facing room.

Excellent location, cheap room, nice staff (the one girl we dealt with in reception) We passed the door a few times in the car while looking for it, found it on foot, above the pub Sweeneys, seperate door, tiny hall, we used the lift to the reception on 2nd floor, nearly tripped getting into the lift as the floor is lifting, the reception you couldn't swing a cat in it, not that you'd want to ! Our room was on the 4th floor, the window was open and could only be closed by staff so called reception she came straight up, told us it can only be opened or closed by staff, that didn't bother us, before going out I used the toilet and complimentary soap, opened the bin to put the wrapper in and it turned out the bin wasn't cleaned from previous occupant, let's just say it was obviously a female ! Ugh ! The tiny tv on the wall had a dvd player on top so as I'm nosey I wanted to look at it and i reckon the thing hadn't been dusted in months........ The chair in the tiny room was filthy seriously hoover under the cushion. I will not ever, be staying in this b&b again and would not recommend it to a friend.

This hotel is manky!Do not waste your money and stay here!!!Myself and my boyfriend stayed for one night and instead of wanting to relax in the room, we wanted to get out of it. We paid €90 for one night and for €10 more could have got somewhere much nicer, looked like it was worth €40 at most!Pictures online are completely deceiving! The paint is peeling off walls. The bed throw was manky with stains all over it..looked like it had been a long time since seeing a good clean. Room was cold, gap under doorway, not very private, room tiny!Hotel in general was poorly kept and very delapitated looking. This would only suit for myabe a gang of lads on a heavy weekend drinking who don't care where they pass out. The one nice thing? The bathroom was really nice, staff ok.That's it!Felt uncomfortable there in general.

Room Tip: Tip:Book somewhere else!:-)
