I attended with a girlfriend on 17th August 2016 the evening of Food, Foklore and Fairies. Johnny, our storyteller, was really nice and told the stories in a way that he brought us very close to the fairy world. The food tasted good. I had the traditional Irish Stew. The location has a friendly atmosphere.

We are, by and large, very amused and enjoyed the evening very well and can recommend it to everyone with a clear conscience.

Thanks a lot to Johnny and to The Brazen Head for the pleasant evening.

Visited 29th August for me and my boyfriend's third anniversary! I had been researching for weeks in advance as we only had three days in Dublin and wanted to pack as much as we could in so little time! This was one of my highlights of the trip, the menu is small but consists of traditional Irish cuisine which is available to view on their website prior to booking, I believe our host for the evening was Phillip, having read other posts I can see mainly two names propping up and that's Helena and Phillip. The gentleman was very knowledgable on Irish history -as he should be- but had the gift of story telling, from what I could see the whole room was engaged, and the gentleman was also humorous. Without giving away the stories as not to ruin it for anyone, the title speaks for itself, you should expect a history of the Irish famine and importance of potato, fairies and how this belief impacted people in the past and present, followed by a few anecdotes of Irish social interactions- depending on who is hosting. The Irish music was a treat and added ambience to the evening although at no point was the room not buzzing with positive energy. Please take note, the whole point of the evening is to engage with the host but also with others- it's in one room upstairs in the pub- so expect to be sat around a large table with everyone else. Of course I was sat next to my partner and it was not noisy so you could have a conversation to your companion as well as engage with others from around the globe as I did on my evening. The food was also nice- a three course meal seemed daunting for me but was broken down in stages with story, starters, story, main course and music, story/dessert. Had the beef and Guinness stew was very tasty, boyfriend who is a fussy eater also enjoyed it! Such an enjoyable evening really felt like I was being immersed in Irish culture in Ireland's oldest pub! Also was lovely walk back to hotel in evening seeing Dublin all lit up. Only downside is I am still waiting to receive some of the stories on my email! I imagine if they have a list of email addresses every night to send some of the stories then it would take a long time to get through them! Looking forward to look back on them. And in the words of our amazing host - if you can't remember all of the story- Irish them! Highly recommended!

Fantastic dinner and storytelling. We had Helena and she was awesome. Very charismatic and really draws you into her stories. Dinner and desert was fantastic and they had a couple gentleman come in and play for us while eating the main course. Wonderful dinner altogether and would love to bring my family to see this! Helena also emailed more stories that we could print from home to have! Very nice touch and a great way to remember our trip! Before the dinner we also got to listen to a band in the bar area of the Brazen Head and they were fantastic! Wonderful establishment altogether. A+
