Staying here yesterday for a night visit in Dublin, a warm welcome in the reception and house keeping was fast service with regards to my needs. Had a big nice room and comfortable bed. Over all it was a good stay and experienced. From check in to check out.

We chose Kelly's hotel based on a Fodor's Choice mention in the 2014 Ireland book and for its extremely central location and reasonable price. It correctly noted that it was located over a bar and could be noisy and also that it had no elevator. We booked "executive rooms" which included a continental breakfast. Upon reserving, Kelly's e mailed us with the caution on the noise and the steps, and these proved correct, especially on Saturday night. However, the minimalist but spacious rooms were quite comfortable, especially the king bed, and the bathroom, although small, was well designed and full featured. No closets, but wall hooks. Breakfast was in their French restaurant premises, pleasant and adequate, but the location was fabulous, right in the Dublin nightlife and walkable to everything in Dublin. After our initial reservation in climbing the 3 flights to our room with luggage, we found it to be pleasant and inexpensive and fun to stay in.

Room Tip: Saturday night all rooms are very noisy until a late hour, rest of week, normal street noise. Not a...

Overall I really liked this place. It was very clean, the bed was super comfortable (probably one of the most comfortable hotel beds ever) and it was in a great location. Was it noisy? Yes. Was the bathroom tiny? Yes. But these things didn't bother me particularly, so I would stay again for sure. If noise and limited space are not your thing, this is probably not the place for you.

When we arrived, the room we booked was not available and we were down-graded to a smaller room. It seemed ok initially, if a little stuffy. We were assured it was a nice quiet room at the back of the hotel....but that night the noise from the bar flowed thru our window. At 6am the sounded was was like a fire siren so sleep was not to be had. Won't be back

My husband and I planned on a trip to Ireland for quite some time now. It finally came -- the second half of the month of June this year. I had booked this hotel from a list of about 9 others -- even though only one popular travel book even mentioned it as a "place to stay". The one that did said it was a "boutique hotel" which it is. The thing that the advertisement stated was accurate -- central location; boutique atmosphere, etc. But what it did not mention was the great staff that worked here. Yes, there are a lot of stairs -- five flights to our first floor room which after having had a broken leg in 2012, presented a challenge but also a good form of physiotherapy. And the staff were especially helpful to me as I had some medicine that needed special care. We were right in a central spot -- walking distance from Grafton Street and to O'Connell Street (if we had wanted that walk), but we availed ourselves of the local transportation (the Dublin City Bus) which came right outside our door. The noise was challenging the first weekend until we got used to it and then it became white noise after that. We did NOT use the earplugs either -- we were too tired after the sightseeing during the day. The continental breakfast was great and coupled with the low price of this hotel's rooms, made for a good all round deal. According to North American standards, the rooms are small, but we often spent reading time in the evening in the reception area lounge. That became a ritual after a full day of sightseeing. And it gave us a chance to visit with the great reception staff. If we ever get a chance to go back to Dublin, we would definitely choose the Kelly Hotel as our accommodation.

Room Tip: 1st floor executive suite -- back of hotel - can get warm but would not hear "street noise"...

The location and price of this hotel are great. The quality of the furnishing and finish are a high standard and our room was really spacious. The bar downstairs is great, but a bit dangerous having the ability to put cocktails on the room tab!! Staff were friendly and despite being such a central location there were no issues with noise (although the cocktails possibly helped that). Would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

My mom and I stayed at Kelly's for our first an second night in Dublin during a 2 week road trip around Ireland. I chose to stay here because of the price, location and included breakfast. I read tips from Tripadvisor reviewers that there is no elevator, so we asked for a room on a lower floor near the front. I had a 50 lb suitcase, so two flights of stairs was MORE than enough of a workout for a day haha!

There is a popular bar below the hotel (Hogan's) and a trendy lounge connected near the rear (No Name), so try to get a room near the front of the hotel and a higher floor (depending on how heavy your luggage is!). We were in Dublin during a Bank Holiday, so the first night was quite loud (many drunk people outside enjoying their day off the following day!). The second, was not as bad. This is a small, clean and comfortable place to stay, but do remember that this price isn't going to give you sound proof walls. Also, since it is so well located, you hear the other people enjoying the location. The hotel supplies ear plugs in the nightstand, but we found we were so tired from sightseeing, that we just passed out.

The breakfast is included and a nice arrangement of ham, fresh baked pastries, yogurts, fruit, coffee, juices, etc. It is a nice spread for a continental breakfast.

I would recommend this affordable spot to anyone that wants to be walking distance from all the sights of Dublin (Temple Bar, Grafton Street, St. Stephens Green, Iveagh Gardens, Trinity College, St. Patrick's Cathedral, etc.)

Room Tip: No elevator - ask for a lower floor if you have heavy luggage! Louder in the rear due to a trendy ba...
