Just a few steps away from the hurly burly of town, in a delightful red brick neighborhood brightened by hydrangeas and other cheery flowers. Just a quick hop away from Parnell Square and the Hugh Lane Gallery - three bus lines stopping on the nearby Western Way take you to the Abbey Theatre, the National Gallery, and beyond. This is indeed a cosy place with a huge kitchen centred around a beautiful old kitchen table, two tv screens, good beds, and a tiny walled terrace just past the kitchen that allows you to taste the morning rain, or rather, delicate dew.Great kitchen equipment although the addition of a Nespresso machine should be encouraged!
(Ditto the addition of CNN) There are a few flaws - a very slight mustiness in two places on the ground floor (but this is a damp country!) , and the fact that both of the lovely big bathrooms are end to end beside the kitchen on the ground floor, so the second floor people do have to wander downstairs to use them. Small but very warm and comfortable bedrooms. Simon is very helpful and well-organised,even meticulous, and his colleagues are charming too. Style is important - we were inconvenienced by repairs being made to the TV and the sink, but the repairman was friendly and a good conversationalist, and Simon apologized with a box of chocolates and small bottle of Bailey's. Simon can help you order from a supermarket before you arrive, using his internet account, The taxi called by Fabi was also delightful and a good companion out to the airport. Three cheers for everyone and we would (and hopefully will) rent from Simon again when we return to this wonderful, friendly, most beautiful and culturally rich city where continental heat waves seem to be unknown - the average of twenty degrees C in August is refreshing and even a lifesaver.
This place was great! They sent tons of info ahead of time about the townhouse, as well as Dublin overall. It was within close walking distance to a market and several restaurants and bars, and a farther walk to the bridges going across the river. We wondered if the neighborhood may have been a bit iffy as we saw tons of security signs, but we were always traveling in pairs and felt very safe. We had a group of 10 and this house provided enough room for us all, potentially being able to accommodate one more. There were two very nice, brightly lit bathrooms. We weren't sure how to work the oven or washer at first (chalk it up to the cultural difference) but the property manager was available for questions and very helpful. I would recommend this property for any group seeking an affordable space.
My family and I (five people) really enjoyed staying in this house during a recent visit to Dublin. We had all the amenities we needed in a lovely, renovated house with a fun design. We appreciated the special welcome touches (esp. the brown bread and scones!). The house is an easy walk to O'Connell Street and into the city/all the places you will want to explore. Simon was communicative over email as we were finalizing the reservation and the house managers Vicky and Fabi were responsive during our stay. If you are traveling with a group and want the amenities of a home during your stay I highly recommend this property!
This 3 bedroom rowhouse with 2 floors is probably 100 years old but with very modern kitchen and 2 baths and an appealing modern decor with whimsical touches. It's in a residential neighborhood of other rowhouses, an easy 12-15 minute walk to Liffey River. It felt very spacious for 4 adults. We would absolutely come back. Simon Carthy, the landlord, was quickly responsive by email about all questions leading up to our stay. While we were there, we met Vicky, his rental manager, three times and she was just wonderful. She was immediately responsive to a minor issue about the house and she also secured a parking permit for us (which is free). Simon returned our security deposit within an hour of our checkout.
We were very happy with our stay. Fantastic service from Simon, with real attention to detail. When things weren't quite right, they were quickly fixed.
Great big entertaining area in the kitchen, was the hub for our stay. Beds comfy. Showers fantastic.
Easy walking distance to the city, even with small kids. Not particularly baby proof, but we managed with 4 small children. I would choose to stay here again in a heartbeat.
This property rental has been made to feel like a home. Simon was very attentive with our booking and ensuring that the paperwork side of it all was seamless and extremely easy. On arrival, Fabi was our lovely welcoming host and settled us in immediately. The house is decorated like a home and thus very comfortable. We went to Dublin to celebrate our mothers 70th so with eight of us there (4 being OAPs!!) to satisfy everyone was no mean feat! The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are excellent. For us the hub was the kitchen which is lovely and big and a great social area for us, had the weather been better we would have loved to enjoy the wee outside area. The property is extremely close to the city center, 15 mins walk. All in all it made our stay to Dublin! I wouldn't hesitate to deal with Simon and rent one of his properties again when i revisit Dublin.
Our stay in your house was a real pleasure. We had seen a little video before we went there and it was even nicer in reality. Everything needed for a nice stay was available, carefully chosen and decorated with a lot of love. We enjoyed very much staying in this cosy typical Irish house. Thank you!
