“Never again Jumper stolen!!”
Reviewed 9 December 2013 via mobile

Stayed here last Monday for the 2nd time. We were so excited to return as we thought it was such a lovely hotel the last time. Phoned for an early check-in a few days before to which wasnt available on the day. Understandable at it was only 11.30. The very pleasent receptionist took our bags and a few items we had on hangers. Similar to a cloak room. He gave us tokens for each items and told us to collect when we got back. We then headed off Christmas shopping and arrived back later that evening. We were then met by a different receptionist and handed in our tokens for our luggage to which she couldnt find one item on the hanger. An expensive jumper belonging to my partner.A simple "oh sorry I cant find it" as if it was nothing. Not one more thing was said to us about this on our two night stay here. The luggage was left in the staff office directly behind reception. We were told no one else had left luggage there that day and no one only staff have access to this room. I then asked for a Manager on departure to which I was told "Check your closet at home". This is the first ever negative comment I have ever written but the unprofessionalism of the staff and in particular the manager was a disgrace. It was mensioned that clearly a staff member stole it and stuffed it in a bag. All we simply wanted was an apology and maybe a discount on our bill or the value of the jumper...something anything at all. But nothing. I have sent numerous emails and still no luck or response. Absolute disgrace.... never ever be back there unless something is done about it... I have given them a week so far and nothing...

Stayed for one night with my husband as a birthday surprise and what a surprise it was. This hotel is modern, spacious, luxurious and clean, clean, clean. We stayed on the 5th floor with a wonderful view of the 02 and their Christmas market( beautiful at night all lit up).we had dinner from their German food market menu and it was lip smacking good with plenty to choose from. Breakfast was in the coda restaurant and that too was plentiful, the only negative was, we were waiting at least ten minutes for coffee and toast to come to the table , and only after we asked for it,then had to go and find tea spoons and butter ourselves a bit of an annoyance. All the staff we encountered were very courteous and efficient, we ordered late night room service and it was super quick and very tasty. Parking is €14 for overnight and the elevator from the car park takes you straight to reception so no hassle. we have already booked our next visit and can't wait.

First time staying in Dublin as my boyfriend and I travelled down from Belfast for a concert. It was the first time we have ever stayed in Dublin, and we were very pleased with the friendliness of the staff. When we got to our room we were very happy with the cleanliness and the room was lovely! We got ready and went to the o2 arena to enjoy what we came to Dublin for. Once the concert was over, it was so nice to just walk across the road and be able to jump into bed. Very pleasant stay and will definitely book again.

My Friend and I stayed at the Gibson last night as we were attending a Concert at the O2 Dublin. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly and efficient staff. The comfortable and quiet room was nicely decorated and spotlessly clean as was everywhere else in the hotel. We had the buffet dinner and breakfast in the Hotel and both were delicious and plentiful, with a great selection. The Hotel is just across the road from the O2 and the Luas line stops right outside the door which was just great. This brings you to and from Central Dublin in a few minutes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Gibson and will definitely be back soon.

A handshake welcome when you check in only to then be asked for a business card to avoid a 10€ charge -what's that about. Certainly set a tone. Room clean chip board - the impression is that they ran out of money for a top notch finish.Floor to ceiling curtains could do with motor to help opening and closing they were so big. Service very poor, from the bar where the bar staff were most unhelpful " crisps? Nuts? - we have popcorn and that's it!" . I generally eat popcorn at the cinema - not with a pint of the black stuff. Service at breakfast was poor with food that was congealed and sweat steamed! Lunch little better. Not a hotel I would return to as there are better alternatives for the price in Dublin.

One of the finest hotels I have stayed in. This property is right in front of the Point Village Tramway and so access to the downtown is easy, quick and comfortable. The room I stayed in had a large balcony and facing a railway line and a high rise residential apartment block. Inside the room, a large kingsized bed, TV poised on a central table in the middle of the room is a unique style. A refrigerator in the corner. a work desk by the bathroom are all well laid out. The room is comfortably sized and the bathroom with a glass shower cubicle is neat and nice. Complimentary breakfast in the lobby level is sumptuous and great. Hotel staff are very cooperative and help in obtaining taxis to the airport which is around 20 minutes away. The exercise room is well equipped and accessible 24x7 as in most other hotels. WIFI works well and this is a good property for someone visiting Dublin.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony as that may be a great option to spend time, during summer.
