My favorite thing about this hotel was sitting in the window listening to horse-drawn carriages on the street below. It was mesmerizing! It was my first trip to Ireland and I was a little leary about this hotel because some people said it was noisy/near Temple Bar...but everything worked out great for us and Dublin was amazing:-)

A fantastic stay in an amazing hotel. Beautiful room, completely spotless. The staff at this hotel have got the friendly/professional mix absolutely perfect. The Octagon Bar is superb and not particularly over priced in comparison with the very close bars of Temple Bar. Loved it :)

Room Tip: We were upgraded to a river view which was more than we expected.

Lovely hotel in the heart of Dublin. Staff friendly and accommodation excellent. Great breakfast. Nothing to complain about the stay, they had everything covered. Hotel was close enough to the Guinness Store house to walk as well as many bars and places to eat.

The Clarence is well located, with clean, understated decor and a very helpful concierge staff. The Cleaver East, which is the in-premises restaurant, is a superb tapas-style restaurant with an outstanding kitchen. The only notable shortcoming was in the Octagon Bar. The bar staff is comprised of the most indolent, unmotivated servers we have ever encountered. They spent their time making loud noises with dishes and ice and tending their mobile phones. After getting our initial drinks, our party of 6 went an hour and 20 minutes without a follow-up (there were maybe 20 people in the bar).

The hotel is really centrally located with food, drink and sites a short walk away. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, the rooms are lovely and the views are great. Delicious food too! No detail is over looked in this simple, but elegant hotel. I would recommend it to anyone and I will definitely be back.

Not my first visit nor will it be my last. Perfect hotel in an ideal location for a city break. The hotel is immaculate and the staff professional but welcoming. They will go out of their way for you. The breakfasts, whether in the restaurant or in your room are out of this world. The octagon bar is the perfect way to start the evening. The rooms are clean, comfortable and contain everything you need. This is one of my favourite hotels which is why we keep going back. Would not stay anywhere else in Ireland.

Room Tip: 4th floor with balcony. You can't beat them.

I booked this hotel about 9 months in advance and bagged a great discount on the room. The hotel is definitely the nicest in the area. The rooms weren't huge but more than comfortable. The Octagon bar was great if a little pricey and the restaurant provided a fantastic breakfast each day. Staff here were all more than accommodating and friendly. I would definitely recommend and visit again. Definitely! The central location was fantastic!

The Clarence boasts fifty bedrooms and suites, along with our world famous Penthouse Suite. Our rooms range from Classic through Deluxe and on to our River View and Garden Terrace Suites. Our furnishings are simple: classic Shaker oak, beds dressed in cool white linen, sitting elegantly in contrast to a palate of vibrant cardinal colours, rich drapes and luxe carpets. We aim to provide all the simple needs of our guests and we offer 'round the clock room service and all rooms have complimentary WiFi as standard. Our city centre location means car space is at a premium, but we do have a small underground car park that can be reserved for a small nightly supplement. It is also worth noting that our location does mean that the area can be lively at night, especially at the weekends and while we have taken every effort to reduce noise, it is not possible to block it all out. Please do consider this before booking. Within the hotel complex there are many drinking and dining experiences, from the chilled out bliss of The Study to the super stylish Octagon Bar, the perfect spot for an afternoon cocktail or a laid back nightcap. We also have Michelin star chef Oliver Dunne's Cleaver East restaurant within our walls and we are very proud that Oliver and his team provide all catering at the hotel, so whether it's a late night bite in your room or a Full Irish breakfast the next morning, you know your food will be of the highest standard, made from the freshest produce, closely cared for by Michelin starred hands. In the bowels of our building you will find the luxurious cocktail and food bar The Liquor Rooms, home to Dublin's arts set and the first ROI bar ever to be nominated in the prestigious Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards. On our first floor, overlooking the River Liffey lies The Cleaver East Suite at The Clarence, which can be reserved for special occasions, from large weddings to intimate business meetings. ... more   less
